Rumour: Octopath Traveler 2 Could Launch On Xbox Game Pass This Month

While I'd love a shadow drop on Game Pass, I'd prefer a physical copy. Another game I'll play on Xbox but own on Switch I guess.

Please shadow drop Gears of War collection. I would lose my mind!

FF Pixel Remasters too please.

This would be very cool. My only problem is that I doubt I could get through it tethered to a TV. I'd be more inclined to play on switch.

With all the news about the new ARM chip from Qualcomm. I would love to see an ARM based Xbox portable announced.

This is the only way to do it, since it’s such an old game now. Can’t ask full price. It was announced in September and there was total silence after that. This one seems more than likely with square Enix putting a new focus on multi platforms, and Xbox strong arming more RPGs onto Xbox and game pass.

Me personally I’ve been waiting ages for octo 2 on Xbox. But if it’s coming in June it’ll have to compete with smt v! Which may or may not be a surprise game pass announcement that Atlus spoiled.

Just shadow drop some of the older CODs. If it's a new game, don't do a HiFi Rush and blame low sales after cause you couldn't be bothered with marketing.

A descent strategy if true?. That Octopath Traveler 2 hits Games Pass. Would be older ports of Square Enix games get payed for to be on Games Pass but new titles are fully priced.
I'll be buying them all including Octopath Traveler 2 so I can fully enjoy them when I wish.

@HonestHick Are all 5 not already available on gamepass? What is going to be in the collection that's different? I've not been keeping up with Gear of War news, but have noticed a few posts calling for a collection.

@jesse_dylan seems like it might also compete with Visions of Mana and Dawntrail? Is SE repeating their fall/winter 2022 and about to drop too much stuff and wonder why no one buys/plays?

I'm happy to see Octopath Traveller 2 coming to Xbox and Game Pass. The first one looked so much better on Series X than on Switch and, in my opinion, plays better with an Xbox controller. So I'm the opposite of some players, I prefer a proper controller and screen than grabbing the Switch and dealing with its buttons for dozens of hours. I always thought that handhelds are better for quick sessions of racing, etc.

I'm also happy about the other Square Enix games coming to Xbox like Visions of Mana. I bet that the Pixel Remaster collection is the next choice!

@Nexozi all the games in unreal engine 5 is a dream game for me. Not to say anything is wrong with the 360 ones. It’s just thats my favorite trilogy ever made and to get it with new modern tech is exciting to me. Plus it will bring back the multiplayer and add PC players. I enjoy seeing older games get new tech upgrades.

@DJKingaling it might be Microsoft at fault this time! But octo 2 might be the only sq-en game pass addition for now. Or maybe there will be surprises!

@Banjo- I’m the same. I had octo 1 on switch, and when I tried it on game pass, I regretted that I hadn’t played it that way!

@jesse_dylan I didn't buy it on Switch but a friend has it, so I tried it. On Series X (S too, probably), the graphics look much crisper and much more beautiful, not to mention that the Xbox controller is ergonomically perfect. This is why I'm excited about the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection coming to Xbox, not confirmed yet but very likely.

@Nexozi yeah it’s suppose to be in UE5 looking great. Hope to see it at the showcase. Same with Gears 6, some people that seen it say’s it’s the best looking video game ever made. High marks. Time will tell 😊

@HonestHick Hopefully it's the shadow drop that's being rumoured! I'm guessing it could also be a candidate for going over to the PS5. Gears 6 news would be welcomed.

@Banjo- id love to see pixel remaster on Xbox too, preferably game pass since it’s ludicrously expensive! I’ll also be playing the dragon quest 1-3 set on Xbox, even if it’s not on game pass. Glad it went multi before it came out, or I’d have bought switch and been stuck with it. I like the option of portability, but I rarely use it… (would still be interested in some kind of portable 1080p Xbox S tho, or whatever they have in mind!)

@jesse_dylan Yep, I'll be buying the Dragon Quest remake for Xbox, too. I also suspect that it's the first trilogy. From now on, Square Enix will be publishing for Xbox, including catalogue (past) titles, so I expect many more to come!

@Nexozi agreed. The industry is changing and i think exclusives will be more and more less seen. But they need some. Even if they only keep them for a year or two.

Maybe get your head out of Microsoft's ass first and then, maybe do some actual reading about the topic from industry analysts and insiders who seem to also DEDUCE the same. That that studio closure was financially motivated and not "organisational restructuring" as your "bets" suggest.
