At Ubisoft Forward today, it was announced that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (the remake) will now officially be launching in 2026. This is the first time it's received a proper release window in multiple years.
Obviously it's a shame we've been waiting so long for its arrival, but at least we now know when to expect it!
"Prince of Persia The Sands of Time is back! Coming 2026."
Also at the show, it was announced that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is getting a free update called "The Divine Trials" as of today, and new story DLC called "Mask of Darkness" will arrive in September 2024.
You can watch the trailer for that PoP: The Lost Crown update and expansion down below.
"Enjoy some news on the critically acclaimed Prince of Persia The Lost Crown with a focus on our amazing community, the Divine Trials Free Update and more..."

Who cares about this remake? This has taken so long and Ubisoft is so bankrupt of any creativity I have lost interest
@ZuneTattooGuy no-no, that’s not how it happened.
Welp time to pick up lost crown!
Hope the remake turns out well.
Did they officially cancel beyond good and evil 2?
I love Sands of Time. LOVE IT. I hope the remake does the game justice. The teaser was suitably epic. Can't wait to see more of this. Crossing my fingers they don't destroy it by trying to re-engineer it for a "modern audience".
@FatGuyInLilCoat I'd like to know the status of BG&E 2 as well. As recently as November of last year, we received confirmation that development on the game was still progressing (to my utter shock and bewilderment). That was the last update I've seen or heard.
@ParsnipHero I love the idea that Ubisoft is remaking Sands of Time to undo the past 20 or so years.
After the first showing of the game, I don't think anyone was surprised when they scrapped it and started again.
They should cancel it and work on something new
