We're getting closer and closer to the end of the Xbox 360 store this July, and when that happens, lots of digital-only Xbox 360 games are set to be permanently delisted - completely inaccessible unless you've already bought them.
It's been well documented that around 200 digital-only games are set to be impacted by this, but what about the Xbox 360 exclusives? What about the games that, once they're removed, may never be purchasable again on any platform?
Courtesy of a new Google Docs list, we can identify 60 of these Xbox 360 exclusives that will (presumably) be getting permanently delisted this July. A big thanks goes to Hikiko on Twitter for sharing this list earlier today.
Here are the 60 digital-only Xbox 360 exclusives getting delisted this July. Obviously there's a chance that some of them could reappear in the future on another platform, but as things stand, we've seen no sign of that happening.

Beyond this, some of the other notable digital-only Xbox 360 games that will be disappearing in July include Call of Duty Classic, Rez HD, Burnout CRASH! and others, but those do at least exist on other platforms as well (for now).
As you may know, Xbox has been running a sale on some 360 games over the past few weeks, and another two sales will follow before the store closure - so it's worth keeping an eye out for any bargains that you might be interested in.
Sad to be losing any of these Xbox 360 games permanently? Tell us in the comments section down below.

Non purchasable but still playable if I buy one of them ?
@Senjutsu77 They'll remain playable (and re-downloadable) after the store closes in July, yeah.
It doesnt look as bad when the 31 (if I counted right) kinect games are not included.
Now where am I going to get Kinect games?
another phil fail. what i don't get is after the death date one can still download the games if you bought them. the games are there soooo why not have them up for sale?
@Fishticon You can keep these games forever buying them now on your Xbox 360. Oh wait, you don't care about anything Xbox.
@rustyduck As far as I know all these games are for Xbox 360 and not backwards compatible on Xbox One and Series S|X. If you still have an Xbox 360 and want them, buy them now.
Huh. Was it weird that I was expecting more titles to be delisted? I’m a little surprised that a lot of the games on the list consist of Kinect games, but given that they pushed that thing a ton during the 360 days and had their studios pump them out, I am also not too surprised.
i fired up my xbox three sixty but it caught the red ring of death!
Still more retrocompatibilty than Sony.
@rustyduck Then you don't need to worry about this. 😁
Any chance of Advent Rising leaving?
@rustyduck The Xbox 360 Marketplace is effectively a separate storefront from the modern Xbox store. Keeping this separate store up takes resources, and MS no doubt sees the diminishing returns that it brings.
I don't know all of the inner workings, but I'm sure it's a lot simpler and cheaper to just keep a few distribution servers running, compared to having those plus the storefront and all of the payment processing stuff.
Many 360 games (the back compat ones) will remain available on the modern store for the foreseeable future.
I'm always disappointed to see games being delisted, and I still want MS to reopen the back compat program and add more games, but it is understandable that they'd shut down such an old service that barely gets any use. This store is nearly 20 years old, and it exclusively runs on a console that's older than the Wii!
@Pastellioli Keep in mind that this article is only covering the exclusives- and fortunately, there aren't that many!
All in all, I see 1,279 games on the Xbox 360 Marketplace, all of which are being delisted when the store shuts down.
That includes the 200+ digital games we've seen mentioned in previous articles, as well as digital versions of disc-based games.
@Spider-Kev Advent Rising is on the modern store (through the modern back compat program), so it won't be affected. It's also available on PC.
@smoreon Whoops! I guess I missed the word “exclusive” in the headline haha. Thanks for correcting me! Your information is super helpful.
@smoreon
Thanks.
It's a game Boy ve wanted to play since it came out.
My cousin-in-law helped create it.
@smoreon I agree with you and I would also love more backwards compatible games added if copyright issues don't impede it and not just that but more FPS Boost enhancements. For instance, the Crash and Spyro games.
@Banjo- It's not a cult.
Meanwhile, there’s still emulation to keep these alive. Sure, can’t get ‘em on Xbox, but you can play many for free on PC or Steamdeck.
@Fishticon No but when it comes to hardware and backwards compatibility, Xbox excels, with much more content than Sony and Nintendo together and with enhancements that are not remarketed and resold as remasters unlike on Sony and Nintendo consoles, including first and third-party titles, like Final Fantasy XIII that is 1080p on Xbox One and Series S and 4K on Xbox One X and Series X and has the high-quality cutscenes from the PS3 version that shipped on BD. All of that for free if you have the Xbox 360 game that was released 14 years ago and also available on the new store. Microsoft's engineers worked for years literally, until Xbox 360 games run as well and even better on Xbox One than on the original hardware.
@Banjo- I agree! Xbox’s backwards compatibility is so good, especially for those that really enjoy playing older games!
I think another positive aside from getting to keep playing games on newer hardware is that it can also save money for consumers. They don’t have to repeatedly buy remasters or ports for each new console, since they can keep their backwards compatible games with them. I’m hoping that they continue to add more backwards compatible games, since I think that’s an aspect the Xbox does well, and dare I say does the best out of all console manufacturers in this day and age.
@Ricky-Spanish you seem to have some sort of contempt for the xbox360, i wonder why
@Pastellioli Just days ago we were discussing about Rare Replay and especially Grabbed by the Ghoulies, the first Xbox title that was available on Xbox One, in 1080p and double the frame rate, as part of Rare Replay. Years later, Xbox 360 games in the collection were enhanced for Xbox One X (and Series X). Missing because of the original version, Conker Live & Reloaded was added some time later 😊.
I am a big believer in game preservation. But I do not believe EVERY game (or bit of art) EVER created needs to be preserved for future generations. To me than is akin to hoarding and not being able to let things go.
I look at this list of exclusives and nothing jumps out to me that will be a major loss. And they will still exist physically, or in people libraries and likely through emulation. I am happy with that.
What I am more concerned about is the hundreds of games that are NOT exclusive to Xbox are being delisted this post makes little mention of those.
@FraserG List isn't complete. Vigilante 8 Arcade is missing.
There is one thing that’s immediately apparent from this list: Xbox bet hard on Kinect, to a greater extent than I ever knew.
@nomither6 Not at all but I know some people will act like it's a death and it's not that bad at all
I've played a lot of games in my time... strangely enough, I don't think I've ever played any of them 😬
@EVIL-C Well that's annoying. Thanks for bringing it up - I've added it to the list and hopefully we're not missing anything else.
Now I know why I didn't get Fire Pro Wrestling back in the day, it uses your avatar......why can't I have Ax Bomber V Omega man X?
@RetroMan71 And that's the reason they are going old dated games that nobody has bought for probably years good luck bye bye
Would really like Panzer General on series consoles.
Considering ALL these games require an Xbox 360 to 'run' and the Xbox 360 has been discontinued for years, then it makes sense that sales will have dried up as fewer and fewer people buy games for 'obsolete' hardware.
Even if you do 'buy', able to download and play 'indefinitely', there is no guarantee you'll still be able to 'play' them in a few years time - if your 360 dies for example, you may struggle to find a working replacement - after all, MS hasn't made the 360 for the past 8yrs at least so all 'old'.
Personally, I'd rather spend money on 'newer' games I can play on the newest hardware. My 360 isn't even set up anymore and I haven't played on my 360 since the XB1 released in 2013 so I haven't finished some games I own, let alone adding more to that Backlog - especially as I can't play on my XB1X or Series X that are both set-up.
Many games - not just MS, but Sony too for example, have delisted games or made some content 'unplayable' today. You can't play Killzone online anymore at all and some games are gone completely (Driveclub). Other Publishers too have delisted games - good luck playing Titanfall or Overwatch today (not the Sequels).
All this talk about 'preservation' is ridiculous - you can't really buy Xbox 360 games anymore - you have to hunt around for used copies and these are 'limited' in number. N64 games aren't 'preserved' just because of Cartridges - again, it comes down to hunting for 'used' Hardware and used Cartridges that 'still' work over 20yrs later...
@themightyant Part of me wants to agree with you about the hoarding, especially when I see people celebrating over some lost shovelware being recovered, or a ~100% complete "beta" build being dumped.
But then I remember how some of my favourite games aren't all that popular, and they wouldn't make the cut if we were to only preserve the best and most important items.
Like Vexx, an Xbox platformer that boasts an impressive pedigree, and which was supposed to be a next-gen showcase of streaming and portal rendering tech, but got cut down and turned into a fairly typical game of its era. The end result didn't make any top 10 lists, nor would most people consider it historically significant. But its background is fascinating, and a build with the missing content would be my holy grail of prototypes. Not to mention that I enjoy the game itself!
So I have to wonder how many other games out there are cult classics, or have hidden historical connections and significance, or offer fascinating development stories. I might not specifically care, but others do.
@BAMozzy It puts the whole physical vs digital debate in perspective, doesn't it?
We all know the downsides of digital (particularly when DRM and live services are involved) by now. But on the other hand, a digital game keeps producing endless copies until its delisting, which can be decades after release!
@smoreon exactly! There may only have been 1m Cartridges of a specific N64 game produced and 25yrs later, how many remain in working order to 'buy and play' today. Some Cartridges are crazy money today too.
Those 'Physical' copies are also locked to their specific hardware and, I believe, downloads the BC Digital 'version' if Backwards Compatible. Since the release of the XB1/PS4 gen, no 'game' runs from the Disc - its just a delivery method to get the 'basic' Software installed (often requiring online downloads to patch and/or deliver the 'rest' of the game). It's nothing more than your 'licence key' to access the Software installed on your Hardware - but a Digital key can't be 'sold' on.
Digital at least can preserve the 'best' version of a Game - the latest updated, patched version. PC tends to have the 'best' preservation as Games are not locked to a specific 'generation' and its been a predominantly Digital platform for years. Console gamers seem more concerned - but that's probably down to the Generational refresh....
