If you've been hanging out for a new Starship Troopers experience on Xbox Series X|S, it's today been announced that Starship Troopers: Extermination will exit its early access phase on October 11, 2024.
This title offers up "pulse-pounding" 16-player co-op first-person shooter action, where you'll join an elite squad and fight against the "bug menace" to save humanity. The latest update on the game also mentions how Casper Van Dien will return as Johnny Rico.
Extermination is also getting a new 8.0.0 update in June called 'Carnage on Planet X-11' which includes new bug armour and a new map (including a mix of indoor and outdoor environments).

Oooh. Was interested when this dropped in early access what, a year ago now?
Might check out the Xbox version. Will definitely need crossplay for staying power though.

It’s funny. Helldivers ripped off Starship Troopers only to make Starship Troopers look like it’s ripping off Helldivers now.
This can be a nice alternative to HD2 for those that only game on Xbox, would have to see some reviews before I would consider it.

Which is going to be a bit sad. Like seeing kids nowadays saying Half Life 2 looks like a skibidi toilet rip-off.
@ATaco jeez, is that a thing? Half Life 2 honestly still plays better than most games, so that’s surprising. For a 20 year old fps, it’s held up remarkably well. I can’t say that for most others of the genre, even if my nostalgia goggles make me want to.
Ohh come on! I got it some time ago on steam! Now i have to buy it again... I hope it will be on gamepass... Its a really nice game, lots of fun!

@Tecinthehead I wouldn't call it a alternative to Helldivers anymore than I'd say Left 4 Dead 2 is. Plays totally different.

@OldGamer999 Yeah buddy it seems like a few big announcements might happen I'm just hoping for a load of gamepass drops and hopefully gears collection would rather that over 6 at this stage maybe they could announce both 🤯

Cool to see a Starship Troopers game. Helldivers and Earth Defence Force have had their moments time for Starship Troopers to have it's time.
Can the game be played solo, or as a duo, @Liam_Doolan, or is it a full lobby of 16 only?
