SNK rolled out an Xbox Series X|S upgrade for its fighting game Samurai Shodown back in 2021, but for a long time it's gone without rollback netcode.
Fortunately, all of this changes today. After it was originally scheduled to arrive in September last year, this update has finally been released. You'll be prompted to update your copy of the game next time you launch it.
This is a free update as well, so all you need access to is a copy of the game. And for anyone wondering - rollback netcode basically aims to minimise delays in fights, making the experience smoother online, and is generally preferred within the competitive scene.
The previous major Xbox update for Samurai Shodown in 2021 added 120 FPS support on the Series X and S.

Sometimes is just too late.... especially in an era where we have years long backlog of games waiting to be played plus GamePass.
Obviously Tencent/SNK didn't care much about this game or its fans once they took this long to add such update.
damn i remember this game
Man I bought this game randomly in December, cause I was trying to get back into fighting games.
Finally played a few weeks ago and had no idea what I was doing. Not sure I want to get stomped on the net 🤣
Load times still suck?
Ironically this update made the netplay experience worse, similar to what Steam players experienced when rollback dropped last year.
@sixrings As much as I adore Shodown, those load times are just beyond unacceptable. Fighters on the Sega CD and PS1 aren't as bad as this.
@Azathoth the real benefit of this generation was load times and if this game can’t figure that out then im out.
