Xbox is always tinkering with the system dashboard, and following the news about a feature to improve backgrounds, another handy new feature has now been revealed.
As highlighted by The Verge's senior editor Tom Warren, Microsoft is currently testing the "ability for Xbox consoles to remember multiple Wi-Fi networks". This will come as great news to anyone who is regularly transporting their system to and from certain locations. Here's the full rundown:
As you can see above, it will be as simple as entering your wireless settings and selecting the option to "remember network", which includes saving the network password. You can then swap between different wireless access points.
This feature is now available to some Xbox Insiders, with the full release expected to follow in the near future.
Will this feature improve your overall Xbox experience? Let us know in the comments.

Store more than one wi-fi password. Be still my beating heart.
That will be great for the Xbox Handheld. Does nothing for me personally but i think it’s a nice UI feature and i am sure someone will get good use out of it. 😊
Good, it’s long overdue.
great news, good that they listen to feedback
@HonestHick Agreed. This doesn't do anything for me right now as my Series X is hardwired to the internet...but a handheld, that's a different story!
Finally. I think even the 3DS did that?
@FarmDog08 for sure, i too am hardwired but to have this baked in and ready for handheld would be huge. I can’t wait to learn more about what MS’s plans are for the Xbox Handheld. I am excited for it as it’s something i have wanted from them for a long long time.
@Lup even the original DS had the ability to save 3 Wi-Fi networks simultaneously.
Ps3 and Psp already had this “feature” too
The Series S is very portable, and this will be a welcomed addition! It's a pain visiting family and having to always ask them again for their Wifi password.
@darkswabber So? The Xbox had a whole Series of features long before the PlayStation added them, especially current gen where PS5 didn't even have things like VRR, 1440p native etc.
More functionality is always welcome, no matter how many folks will get use out of it, I guess.
@Sifi wi-fi memory and VRR/1440p aren’t comparable.
Wi-fi memory is standard in the tech industry and has been for 20 years.
Finally! My Series S with xScreen goes between two house Wi-Fi networks and a phone hotspot for playing in the backseat on long trips, so this is long overdue but extremely welcome.
Unbelievable it has taken so long, PS5 too. It's fairly rare that I have need to connect to another network, but it's always a pain
