Update: Well, it's officially official now! Star Wars Outlaws will indeed launch for Xbox Series X and Series S on August 30th, with pre-orders available today. You can check out the brand-new Story Trailer up above.
"Play up to 3 days early with Gold or Ultimate edition, which includes the base game and season pass. Pre-order now and receive the Kessel Runner Bonus Pack including cosmetics for your speeder and The Trailblazer starship!"
Original story: We have a premature update on Star Wars Outlaws! Following on from last month's regional age ratings which hinted at a nearby launch, the game's release date of August 30th has now been outed.

A new leak comes from the official Ubisoft Japan YouTube channel, who inadvertently included launch details in the video description of its upcoming trailer, which has now been set to private. The game's new story trailer will drop at 5pm UK time, where it should confirm an August 30th release date for Star Wars Outlaws on Xbox.
According to Japanese outlet Gematsu, Outlaws will also arrive three days early for folks who pay up for either the 'Gold' or 'Ultimate' editions of the game - bringing the release date forward to August 27th for the most eager of intergalactic outlaws.
Anyway, we should have more information on this directly from Ubisoft later today, but for now, you can expect your next big Star Wars adventure to arrive on Xbox in late August 2024.

Hope it will be good it will be the first Ubisoft game I've played in a long long time if that's the case and the first I've bought in even longer
Hoping this game will come to Ubisoft's subscription service at launch too. Ubisoft’s games are pretty hit and miss, with their most recent titles being misses for me. Can’t justify a purchase for their launches anymore, but more than willing to sub for a month to try outlaws in August.
Love Ubi, so will def get this one.
@Neither_scene Great thinking guess I won't be buying this game if it comes to Ubisoft+ I'll just sub for the month and play I forgot they had a subscription service
this game will go gamepass faster than diablo 4
I hope there's a physical edition. With Ubisoft that's probably pretty likely.
Considering this IS Ubisoft...I'll wait for a sale before I bite.
@Neither_scene no reason to believe it won't
Love to play it day one but so much on around that time of the year, it just doesn't suit. I'll hold off for a sale price around Christmas or New year. Looking forward to more gameplay videos in the near future
Please don’t pre order this folks, companies need to learn that they need to release a polished game to earn peoples money.
There is much negativity about Ubisoft. The games looks awesome! It looks better than Jedi Survivor. It will be the first serious open world star wars game. I know that Ubisoft will make a great a open world map, as always, but I want them to make a really good story. I suppose the combat will be like Tom Clancy and some stealth mechanics. The Star Wars Outlaws seems to have AAA production values, so it won't be a cheap game like Avatar, which was an typical Ubisoft average game.
I know that the games will have good open world and fun combat. The real challenge for Ubisoft is to deliver a good story game with good pacing, not useless grind, not pointless side quest to progress the story. Ubisoft should prove to everyone that they can make a good story driven action adventure game similar to Sony's Spiderman, God of War etc... and Cyberpunk 2077, Hellblade and all these great story driven games.
Assassin Creed Mirage was a great game, not GOTY level, but it was a better game than Valhalla, which had bigger budget and more gameplay. Unlike Valhalla, AC Mirage didn't have stupid grind, pointless quest and a lot of filler gameplay. AC Mirage had good campaign of 15 hours, which had much better pacing than Valhalla filler quests.
We don't need bigger games but quality ones. Ubisoft made a good point by turning quality>quantity with AC Mirage. This is what I expect from Star War Outlaws. I want quality. I don't want 60 hours of filler and boring gameplay. I want 15-20 hours of high quality story driven gameplay.
In Ubisoft we trust!
This has all the indications of a great game actually. However my backlog is such that I will let all the FOMO die off and get it later. Fully expect a 9 review and hopefully be so good it has some GOTY mentions….
So only £105 for gold version and £120 for ultimate.
Is it any wonder people don’t buy Ubisoft games at launch. Will be 50% off within 6weeks and have several patches of improvement too!
Massive and their Snowdrop engine give me a measure of confidence. I think many will dismiss it out of hand but it will end up being a solid game.
Hoping this is my personal GOTY!
@BowsersBuddy
Thanks, will sub to try/complete also. All this sub nonsense has to be losing most companies massive $
Didn't sweet baby Inc have their claws in this? I'll have to double check but if so it's a big H E dubba hockey sticks no
@GrandValkyrie
"big H E dubba hockey sticks no" - wow this is some local speak! Have no idea what it means, lol
I'm really looking forward to this game! It's probably the game I'm looking forward to the most this year!
(Speaking of Ubisoft games though, Skull and Bones was actually a big hit for me and my friends! Once you get past the rough beginning, it's a blast — haha dad humor there
@GrandValkyrie What are you on about?
Im all giddy about this game, looks f-n amazing imo!
I’m not a Star Wars universe fan but this does look pretty interesting.
I'm a massive Star Wars fan, so it's difficult not to get excited. How-ever, I got sucked into the hype of Starfield, and that didn't go too well for me... so I will resist "The Force" (bad pun intended)... and wait for the gameplay reviews after release.
I'm pretty excited for this. Clean up some of the Ubi-isms and this could be great.
