Warhorse Studios has announced a major new release for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S today in the form of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which will be arriving at some point later this year - and it looks fantastic so far!
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll play as Henry of Skalitz - an ordinary man who finds himself thrust into a "gripping tale of revenge, betrayal and discovery". With over five hours of cinematics to discover throughout his journey, prepare for an open world experience that features "true RPG" elements amidst a brutal medieval world.
"Live life through the eyes and actions of Henry, a young man on a quest to advenge his murdered parents. His story - illustrated with over five hours of stunning cinematics - takes him from aspiring warrior to rebel, crossing paths with a charismatic cast of characters and an unforgettable set of adventures, as he goes up against the King of Hungary, Sigismund the Red Fox and his fearsome allies."
"Your actions shape Henry's destiny and how the world will react to him. Customize freely his appearance, skills and equipment while taking a moral stance on the events around you. Travel round the land engaging in unique activities, such as blacksmithing and archery, to truly immerse yourself in this vibrant region of Europe that will remember your actions, forever."
If you haven't played it, the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance was released on Xbox One back in early 2018, and has continued to remain popular ever since. In fact, if you're quick, the "Royal Edition" of the game is currently on sale for just £3.49 / $3.99 as part of the Xbox Spring Sale 2024, which ends in just a few hours' time.
We'll keep an eye on KCD2 and let you know as soon as there's a release date for Xbox Series X and S.

I have been eagerly waiting to finish Henry's story and KCD 2 seems to be bigger better and more immersive than the first one. If they can land the game in a polished state its going to be a serious GOTY candidate and my personal favourite so far. Kudos to Warhorse.
Looks interesting, I never played the first one.. could you play in 3rd person?
I bought the original Royal Edition the other day and for what you get it is a steal for just £3.49. The graphics look impressive despite being a 6+ year old Xbox One game, although it is quite janky. The sequel looks a big improvement and I’ll likely get it once it’s very cheap in a sale.
@Kloppo I don’t believe you can play the original in 3rd person but there’s probably a mod on PC to do so if you play it on there.
Day one for sure. Highly recommend the first. But a a warning if you struggled with other games lockpicking systems KCD lockpicking will make you cry.
Ooh, wasn't expecting a release date of this year for this. The first one is really good. Yes, it is a bit rough around the edges and isn't the easiest thing to play but I thought it was really enjoyable. If this builds on the first one in the obvious ways then it could be truly great game.
