Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has apparently been a huge success for developer Toys for Bob.
According to the game's design director Toby Schadt (via LinkedIn), the game has sold "over 5 million copies" since its initial multiplatform release in 2020. So in other words, this is great news for the future of Crash Bandicoot under Microsoft.
In our review here on Pure Xbox, we said Crash 4 was an "excellent modernization of a decades-old franchise" and was packed with a "ton of content to keep fans busy".
Most recently, Toys for Bob announced it was becoming an indie studio and leaving Xbox and Activision. The good news is the studio is already exploring a "possible partnership" with Microsoft, with the two parties reportedly reaching an agreement on the next game.
Did you show your support for Crash 4? Would you like to see another entry from Toys for Bob? Let us know in the comments.

Still haven't played it. At this point I'm just waiting for the inevitable GP drop.
@NintendoByNature Same here, I'll just wait too
@Vipor007 hopefully soon
With these figures being quite high for this type of game, I wonder if this would be a game that would make it onto other formats in the future also? Because I would assume a large portion of the game was bought by PlayStation gamers given how synonymous the Crash series was with PlayStation at one time, that surely attributes a fair quantity of the sales!
@NintendoByNature Same here
@Bionic-Spencer It’s already been released on other platforms? Or do you mean any sequels? I’d be very surprised if the latter doesn’t go multi-platform given Microsoft’s recent change in strategy for exclusives.
Still a stressful franchise
I’ve played through and completed Crash Bandicoot 4 single player twice now and I absolutely loved it. Hard to believe now that it was brought out in 2020. Hope there’s another one soon.
I am unfortunately one of the 5 million. I dropped off after the second level. The platforming feels so stiff.
