In case you'd forgotten, it's been a few days now since the release of Planet Zoo: Console Edition on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and the good news is that it's been getting mostly positive reviews from those who have bought it.
The Xbox Store rating is sitting at 4.1/5 in the UK and 3.8/5 in the US, with the positive reviews praising its impressive transition from PC to console, while the negatives have been focusing on its "confusing" nature along with a few bugs.
Kinah Zetsumei on Xbox: "Another amazing sim from Frontier! So glad this is finally on console! I have hundreds of hours into PC and I'm sure this will be the same! Access to the workshop and free features that were added over the years is huge! It runs great, and while the controls take some getting used to (there is a LOT going on!) I feel they were ported and optimized quite well! Super excited to get my franchise going and start trading with everyone!"
SASSYP00PER: "Very well made game. I have experienced some bugs, which are very frustrating. Good tutorials, but you have to understand that this is still a simulation game and is going to be more than a child's game. Not any more complex than Cities: Skylines. 4/5 because the DLC packs are stupid expensive. $50 for base game vs $120 for ultimate? I will watch and buy on sale though!"
jcbuc78 on Xbox: "Hate it. Overly complicated. Not ruling my fault out, for maybe not researching it before a buy. I thought or assumed at least just from the nature, it would be a kick back and relaxing game. NOPE, way too complicated, controls are bad, tutorial tries to teach teach step-by-step and yes it's useful, but putting the 10 thousand steps into practice makes you want to chuck the controller through the wall."
So, aside from a few grumbles here and there, Planet Zoo seems to have made the transition to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S pretty well, and hopefully it'll prove a success on Xbox just like Planet Coaster did.
If you're interested, the game is available now on the Xbox Store at a base price of £39.99 / $49.99.
