Marvel has today revealed a brand-new free-to-play shooter in the form of Marvel Rivals, which is officially launching with a beta in May. The sad news is that it's PC only for now - but there's reason to be hopeful of an Xbox release.
The team behind Marvel Rivals has hinted that an Xbox version is possible, as developer NetEase Games is "actively exploring potential releases on other platforms". At first though, it's kicking things off on Steam.
"Marvel Rivals is an extraordinary third-person hero shooter game infused with the Marvel Universe, showcasing a diverse array of iconic superheroes and imaginative battlegrounds. Each hero wields incredible superpowers, delivering unexpected twists and exhilarating fun to the battlefield in the blink of an eye!"
As for the game itself, Marvel Rivals is a team-based based (6v6) PVP shooter that's said to feature a "thrilling, fast-paced, cooperative gameplay experience". You can see a chunk of gameplay in the reveal trailer up above.
Whether you're a fan of these types of games or not, it sounds like Marvel Rivals is going to prove extremely popular at launch, and it'd be good to see it on Xbox eventually. Hopefully that ends up being the case!
