As part of today's Xbox Partner Preview event, Square Enix has announced the full release date for Final Fantasy 14 Online. Currently in beta on Xbox, the full FF14 release comes to the platform on March 21st, 2024.
Up above we have a new trailer for the full launch - a trailer which also reveals that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate players can get a taste of the premium version of Final Fantasy 14 as a subscription perk, starting on the release day of March 21. Read more about that down below:
Once launch day rolls around, all of the current beta content live in FF14 will transition into a free trial version of the full game, while the premium subscription will obviously deliver lots more content to those who pay up.
Anyway, the big switch is now confirmed to be happening this month on March 21st, and it'll definitely be worth giving that Game Pass Ultimate Perk a whirl if you're tempted to get stuck into the paid version of Final Fantasy 14 Online!
Thinking of getting properly into Final Fantasy 14 on Xbox, then? Tell us if you're hyped down below.

I have a feeling this is gonna sell 18 copies on Xbox. I remember they released FF XI on the 360 all the way back in the good old days, and that's how I experienced it. I remember sales on Xbox were unsurprisingly not great back then.
For what it's worth XIV is an amazing game and probably one of the best FFs ever released if you can adapt to the MMO style of gameplay.
It's also very single player friendly for an MMO, so I'd recommend even for just the story if you are on the fence.
It's very much a community and a game that will consume your life. With its own holidays, a theme park, residential areas. It really is a vibe of a real living, breathing world. Great community too I'd add, very newcomer friendly and the game's tutorials do a really good job of slowly ramping up the complexity over time.
I’m excited to play this. I played a little bit on my laptop but it doesn’t run the best. It crashes every so often, so I’m excited to play a version of the game that doesn’t crash. From what I’ve seen, heard, and played so far, it is a good time and worth playing.
I'm probably going to get the Starter Edition and have the game installed on Day 1. And then be able to play it on Day 2 or 3 due to how long the first patch takes.
I'm super happy to see this one performing so well on Series X, more convenient than PC for me.
