Xbox has added some new talent to its first-party roster! Squanch Games (High On Life, Trover Saves The Universe) co-founder Tanya Watson has announced she's joined Microsoft as "part of the Xbox Game Studios leadership team".
Here's what Tanya had to say in a message on LinkedIn last week:
"I am thrilled to share with y’all that I have recently joined MS as part of the Xbox Game Studios leadership team. These are challenging times for our industry, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to contribute to such important studios. I look forward to the journey ahead."
As mentioned, Tanya started Squanch Games with Justin Roiland back in 2016, but left the company in early 2021 while High on Life was in development. Since then, she's been the COO and President of Bad Robot Games, and in the past she spent eight years as an Executive Producer at Epic Games - working on the likes of Fortnite and Gears of War. Earlier in her career, she was also a Software Development Engineer at Microsoft Game Studios.
It's certainly an impressive resume that should lend well to Xbox Game Studios in 2024 and beyond!
