Following Xbox's business update last week, Nintendo has now announced it will be hosting a "partner showcase" on February 21st, where it will reveal games coming to Switch in the first half of 2024 from its publishing and development partners.
Unsurprisingly, Hi-Fi RUSH is now trending on social media in response to this news - with many fans of the Tango Gameworks' hit hoping to see an official announcement during the broadcast.
Microsoft last week confirmed it would bring four Xbox games to "other consoles" in the future. Hi-Fi RUSH was the first game originally rumoured with the three others believed to be Sea Of Thieves, Pentiment and Grounded.
Xbox has also reiterated over the past week its commitment to hardware and was quick to note how the games coming to other platforms would not be Starfield or Indiana Jones.
You will be able to catch the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase on our sibling site Nintendo Life, but we'll also be sure to share any relevant announcements here on Pure Xbox.
Do you think Xbox could have any announcements planned for Nintendo's partner showcase? Tell us below.

I’m sure it will do very well on switch.
The way the game is with the need of great key timing and all I cant imagine how it will work on switch playing on 30 fps at best (if not less) and with awful controllers... Very happy I already played it on xbox.
Delighted more people will get to experience this game.
It's a great game, more people deserve to play it.
People so obsessed over the term "exclusive" when the truth is Xbox has had almost no any exclusives for years as almost all their first party games come to PC day and date already.
I plan to get it on PS5 and Switch if it has a physical release.
Considering that Minecraft (Mojang) has remained and in fact been expanded upon on all Platforms as well as ALL Xbox releases also releasing on PC since Sea of Thieves, inc Steam and 'Steam Deck' (which is a Console), then they have been doing 'Multi-platform'' for years.
Gone are the days of 'Xbox Console Only' exclusives - timed or otherwise. But also gone are the days of Paying Devs to keep their IP's/Games exclusive. Epic made Gears of War for example yet were NOT a 1st Party Studio, same with games like Oblivion, Mass Effect, BioShock etc - many of the games that were 'exclusive' in the 360 era.
Now of course they OWN a LOT of Studio's and IP's and many of them have a History of Multi-platform success - CoD, Doom, Wolfenstein, Diablo etc. Many of which had MP so would 'benefit' from being on as many platforms as possible for both Gamers (more players mean better ping, better experience etc) and Devs (more revenue to keep the Players in content etc).
That's why I still think Social games will continue to be 'Multi-platform'. Its about growing the Active Online Communities that are built up around these IP's. Sea of Thieves can't 'grow' its community beyond PC/Xbox if its not available elsewhere...
@GeminiReign Yes but it's a misnomer really. They aren't exclusive at all, that isn't what the word means. "Console exclusive" is just an awkward term to try and keep using the word.
It's tough because I want less exclusivity, I'd prefer more games for everyone, but at the same time true exclusives do matter in this industry. Where would Nintendo be without them?
Hopefully Microsoft and Sony can navigate this tightrope without damaging their console platforms.
@GeminiReign Yes Nintendo are almost entirely exclusive. They are thriving BOTH with a clever bit of hardware that fits into many peoples lives (the best console is the one you can actually play most often) and making brilliant truly exclusive games.
Sony still does have some exclusives and some timed-exclusives which then open up. Thought I expect more and more games to come to PC (and maybe even other platforms) as well as less and less time between other platform releases, especially live services where it may be Day 1 like Helldivers.
Industry is shifting to cover the unsustainable cost of AAA games.
@GeorgeKal @Savage_Joe Right! After playing on Xbox I notice the slightest lag elsewhere. Now I play all the multiplatform games on Xbox.
@GeorgeKal
There are several games that play at 60 fps on the Switch, and the Pro Controller exists. I feel a celshaded title will not struggle on the Switch
@ShadowofTwilight
I can see if having a physical release on the Switch but I doubt it will on the PS5
@ZuneTattooGuy
Why do you believe that?
@themightyant "almost"? Which Xbox game didn't release on PC day & date since they announced the policy?
@ZuneTattooGuy not everyone has a pro controller and the game isn't even released on xbox one. I highly doubt they can manage to make it play at 60fps
@TheLastHarbinger We've had a few that have launched on PC first, mostly CPU intensive or KBM games like Gears Tactics, AoE IV, other AoE Remasters but also Flight Sim. I believe Ara: History Untold is also going to be PC only for now.
As for Xbox first the only recent one I can think of is GoldenEye which didn't release on PC, but did on Switch, so it's not an exclusive, even if it's a different version of the game. Before that you probably have to go back to near the start of the XBO gen and second party/funded games like Sunset Overdrive, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Killer Instinct, Ryse etc. I can't remember when they announced the policy, can you? These are probably before that.
Thai game is being hyped up for console release like it’s some gears of war level premier just drop it already it gave off switch vibes from the start
@GeorgeKal
The Switch is an active system getting new games, the Xbox One has stopped development. So yes the Switch can easily run a game with zero textures at 60 fps
@ShadowofTwilight
Hi-Fi rush is a $30 game, and still an Xbox published game. Xbox has laid off most of their physical game department. Limited Run games may make it for the Switch but even then I doubt it really.
@ZuneTattooGuy it wasn't stoped when hi-fi rush was released lol
@themightyant 2018 IIRC.
@GeorgeKal
You are splitting hairs to win a weird argument. It was months away from being stopped. The Switch has enough power to run Hi-Fi Rush at 60 fps get over it.
@ZuneTattooGuy there is no argument there is no way switch going to play at 60fps. Even most first party games on switch cant hit 60fps. Only 2D games can and hi-fi rush is not a 2D game.
@ZuneTattooGuy
Then it'll definitely get one as LRG do a lot of PS5 versions.

Took me 10 seconds to Google, here is a good list of 60 fps. Bayonetta series can run on the Switch at 60 fps, so can Hi-Fi Rush lol
@ZuneTattooGuy all the games you mentioned are 2d games, turn base games, xbox360-ps3 old games and some switch first party games. Took you 10 minutes to just make a big list to prove me right...
@GeorgeKal
Bayonetta 3 is not first party, and very much a 3D action game.
Idk idk. We'll see tomorrow. I'll be buying this game at some point since it's my favorite Xbox game bar none. Just not sure if want to toss money toward it on xbox or switch( if it in fact comes)
You are absolutely right, @themightyant. Microsoft initially said that only select games would be released on the PC too, and then quietly it became absolutely everything, and it just became accepted by the Xbox community, much to the derision by PlayStation gamers. However, that is exactly what will happen with PlayStation games from here on out. The success of Helldivers 2, albeit a GaaS game, means that Sony will be releasing everything day and date on the PC too, and over time it will become accepted by the PlayStation community.
The way that Microsoft handled games going to the PC, is exactly the same way they will deal with games going to the PlayStation. It will be a trickle at first, then the floodgates will fully open, and at least all new releases will make the leap, but after a while older games will go also. Whether Xbox gamers will stick around for that too, I'm not so sure, but it is going to happen whether we like it or not...
@ZuneTattooGuy it is exclusive its the same thing lol. Well it looks like switch cant run hi-fi rush at all and even if they do manage to port it in the future it will 100% wont play at 60fps...
