We still can't quite believe our eyes, but yes, Bethesda is releasing an exclusive Indiana Jones title on Xbox Game Pass. The project, now named Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, was first teased back in 2021 - and a new gameplay deep dive has confirmed that the game launches on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2024.
'The Great Circle' is set right in-between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade - taking players on a globetrotting adventure as everyone's favourite explorer. Want to know more? Here's what we'll be getting into later this year:
"Set between “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “The Last Crusade”, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is a first-person, single-player adventure that will take you all over the world, uncovering clues and solving an ancient mystery. Become the adventurer in a race against sinister forces.
Your journeys will take you from the hallowed halls of the Vatican and the arid deserts of Egypt to the lush and sunken temples of Sukhothai and the frigid peaks of the Himalayas."
During today's deep dive, the team at MachineGames confirmed that the game will feature a mixture of first and third-person gameplay. The FPS experts over there are sticking to first-person combat, while mixing in third-person traversal and cutscenes so we can all get a good look at Indy doing his thing every now and then.
We didn't get a solid release date, but Xbox and Bethesda did confirm that the game is currently on track to release in 2024. Alongside our other announcements today at Developer Direct, this year is starting to look fantastic on Xbox.
