What's that? Another Xbox first-party game confirmed for 2024? Oh, go on then!
This one's a little bit different admittedly, as strategy game Ara: History Untold is launching exclusively on PC when it arrives on September 24, 2024 - with the Xbox console release set to take place at some point in the future.
Ara's release date was announced as part of an Xbox Games Showcase Deep Dive earlier today, during which we saw a selection of gameplay footage. You can check it out in the video above which is timestamped for the Ara section.
If you'd rather read up on the game, the official Xbox website has just put up a large preview highlighting what you can expect from Ara this September, and we'll also throw some more information and screenshots down below.
"Build a nation and lead your people throughout history to the pinnacles of human achievement as you explore new lands, develop arts and culture, conduct diplomacy, and go head-to-head with your rivals to prove you are the greatest ruler ever known. It's Your World Now."
"Ara: History Untold is an evolution in historical grand strategy, featuring beloved classic PC strategy mechanics alongside innovative gameplay like a national crafting economy, true simultaneous turn resolution, a non-linear technology tree, and cloud-backed synchronous/asynchronous multiplayer - all with an expansive and vibrant presentation where you can zoom out from surveying the very edges of your empire all the way down to your citizens living their daily lives. In Ara, there are no pre-set paths to victory, leading to endless possibilities. Your choices will define the world you create, your experience, and your legacy."

I'm looking forward to this one.
Wonder how much later for console? Still 2024?
Looks good! Trying to get back into sim/strategy games.
they have an insider program that is open to everyone it has a lot of info And videos this game is looking really good
I want to try out the simultaneous turn system. I like how he just casually mentions "if you happen to be playing online multiplayer with 30 players." 🤯 But it does sound neat that you and other players submit all your moves (probably under a time limit) then it runs them all at once as a single turn. You can have a ton of players and the game time shouldn't change.
I'm assuming this wasn't announced at the showcase because it won't be making it onto console for a while. Maybe sometime next year?
Did they say what the price is going to be?
