Starfield is certainly an incredible ambitious game with tremendous replayability. I see why it was covered so much. Even if initially upon release, it wasn't well received like most of us gamers thought it would.
I am not surprised it was at top spot. Activision Blizzard acquisition and StarField garnered so much press, good or bad.
I’m not surprised by these results, but I have a feeling it’s going to set some people off. There was a lot going on with Xbox this past year. Starfield was a big anticipated game. There was a lot of hype and talk. It makes sense they both took the top spots of most covered.
The cynic in me does wonder how many of these articles would have been positive though... 😜
I feel like most of the Xbox articles this year were about the Activision-Blizzard acquisition.
Starfield was covered like crazy and advertised like crazy. I remember joking to a friend that Starfield got advertised as much as Fortnite in the Game Awards.
Well about time all those went a bought a series console and a GP and some games then.
Got a good deal the other day, elite 2 white core controller £79.99, seems all UK stores are doing some good deals, also the elite 2 controller at £99.99.
Well that's because they actually had a lot of stuff to talk about. Quite frankly, the others just didn't have a lot to discuss or got boring real fast. I expect 2024 to be the same.
Not surprising given the click bait surrounding xbox "news." Multiple times this year there were "reports" that xbox was going to abandon hardware and become a 3rd party publisher. There were "reports" that xbox was failing this gen even though they are seeing record revenue. They treated the idea that xbox would be interested in acquiring Nintendo if they were available like the Death Star has entered the atmosphere (every major videogame company would be interested in nintendo if they were available). How many different times did they claim that Sega is next? How many times did they quote Sega executives as not being interested in this scenario that they made up? How many times did they claim devs hate gamepass? How many times did they claim devs love gamepass? They say GP isn't profitable, isn't good for game development then conflict their own reporting with the opposite. They are always trying to create a Series S controversy.
Xbox coverage is wild but it must get the clicks. Media bias is real.
Looks like this year was loaded with Xbox articles, no doubt the ABK takeover had a role to play😀. Microsoft better look at other acquisitions to keep the show rolling 😉.
Edited: Whoa @ Starfield's coverage 😳, not bad for an allegedly average game...
The # 1 gaming company has the most covered game and they are the most covered company, not surprised. Playstation - #6 and #2. Far from #1 but they're trying. At least they're in the race.
@J_Mo_Money 'course they will, haters topic is all about Xbox and starfield they can't seem to take it off they're mind. Yet Thier PlayStation house is currently burning down.
When u buy the biggest independent publisher in the business. Thats bound to happen
