It's been five long years since Fallout 76 first launched for Xbox, PlayStation and PC, and the game has now surpassed 17 million players! Better yet, it's still not slowing down next year, as there are multiple plans in the works.
In Spring 2024, "Atlantic City - America’s Playground" will bring a new mission to Fallout 76 along with new story driven quests and more explorable areas, while another new questline will arrive in late 2024 as the map expands southward, "deep into the wooded heartland of Shenandoah".
"Arriving in Spring 2024, the second installment, Atlantic City - America’s Playground, features an additional mission in which players will confront the legendary Jersey Devil, along with new story driven quests, more areas to explore and, of course, plenty of rewards."
"War never changes, but that sure doesn’t stop Appalachia from mutating! Later in 2024, we’re expanding our map southward, deep into the wooded heartland of Shenandoah. This uncharted, once-tranquil expanse in the heart of Virginia will bring a new questline, factions and rewards."
In addition to this, Seasonal Events will be run more frequently next year with new rewards, and "several additional features and improvements" will be implemented to improve the overall Fallout 76 experience.
In our view, it's great to see Fallout 76 doing so well following its rough launch a few years ago, and with the Fallout TV show and Fallout 4's next-gen update arriving in 2024 as well, we've got plenty of great stuff to look forward to!

Don't like mmo games would of loved if this was never a thing and we had another proper fallout game.
@eire-shabba Yup, agreed. I tried Fallout 76. I thought it was horrible.
I enjoy fallout 76. But stopped playing the game due to the seasons are just sooooooo and waaaaaay toooooooo long. Turned me off completely.
It felt like? Well....like work. Did not enjoy the seasons at all.
There is just too much to play out there. Need shorten the seasons up so can complete in couple weeks and allow few months to complete at most to get me excited to play again. Or better yet? Get rid of seasons all together.
Elder scrolls online does it right. Week or two event to get pretty much everything and it's over. That is the perfect blueprint of how to get and keep people engaged. At least for me it is.
Map expansion sounds good.
I liked the "expedition" format for The Pitt but for Atlantic City it feels like it needed to be more like Point lookout or Far Harbor, a seperate smaller visitable map.
I just wish they'd give it a fresh coat of paint.
I'm not normally a graphics snob, I love LoopHero FFS, but resolution aside, 76 looks like I'm playing Fallout 3 on the 360 again.

Whatcha talkin' about? It's sixteen times the detail man!
Xbox and bethesda have established a good reputation for long term support. It's easy to see why Sony would want to attempt to replicate the success xbox has had with games like Sea of Thieves, Elder scrolls online, fallout 76, halo infinite, State of Decay 2, minecraft etc.
Shenandoah isn't too far from me (then, again, neither is Bethesda).
What constitutes a "player" in this statistic? Anybody who launched the game, even if it was only for 5 minutes and part of Gamepass?
when is the last time this game had story quest?
I bowed out when they deleted Nuclear Winter. Adding NPC’s wound up being a detriment due to how badly written they and all their stories are.
love fallout 76 still play it probably Bethesda's best map in a fallout game.
Ive played the whole thing solo and just done the quests people are too hung up on it adding other players just ignore everyone and go out and explore the great world.
I think its better than fallout 4
