Konami is bringing its Metal Gear series back into the limelight today with the release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection - Vol 1, however, it doesn't seem to be stopping there. Alongside the team's already-announced remake of MGS3, it looks like another collection of sorts is spinning up at Konami HQ.
A new PC datamine from today's MGS Collection release has found several other Metal Gear game references in the backend. Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gears Solid 5 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker are all mentioned - with the latter referred to more often overall.
Of course, MGS4 isn't available on Xbox in any form right now - it was a PS3 exclusive in 2008 and remains locked to that platform. Both Peace Walker and MGS5 came to Xbox, but they still seem to be a part of Konami's future MGS plans in some fashion.
For now, the company has not announced a second collection or anything of the sort, but these files certainly hint at Konami potentially putting something together for at least three more MGS games. We'll have to wait and see if a 'Master Collection - Vol 2' appears at some stage!

If they throw in some extras like they did with Vol. 1 then I'd really really like to see The Twin Snakes and Metal Gear Solid Mobile (interquel between MGS1&2 - I haven't been able to find a way to emulate it easily because it's an N-Gage 2.0 game)
Mind you, I feel like it would make sense if they made two more collections at the very least.
Vol 2 - MGS (game boy), Twin Snakes, Mobile, Portable Ops, MGS4, Ac!d and Ac!d 2
Vol 3 - Rising Revengance, Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes, Phantom Pain and Survive
If they could find a way to emulate Touch! properly then that would be a good get. Social Ops and the various versions of Online are probably a lost cause
@ralphdibny This is a good mapping, If the first sells enough I can imagine Konami wishing to go up to vol.3
I really, REALLY hope they bring MGS4 to the current consoles. Fingers crossed!
I already played all the mgs games, except peace walker, I wouldn't play those again. I just want a remake to mgs1 and 2. I'll play those. I couldn't get into peace walker when I gave it a go on the hd collection.
Will definitely pick this up at some stage twin snakes update would of been great but I'm buzzed to play original metal gear from ps1 again childhood favorite made all the better by the fact it wasn't a bate and switch like the 2nd with riaden still can't believe it!
Isn't #5 so large that it'd be it's own release?
I can't believe all these lazy and broken collection is lately.
Sonic
Grand Theft Auto
And now Metal Gear
We all want MGS4 ported to modern consoles/PC. Toss in Twin Snakes and GBC Ghost Babel, and that's a day 1 buy easily. 😍 🤤
Def want MGS4. I think it would sell well alone or in this supposed bundle
Peace Walker needs some rebalancing to better accumulate that most will play alone and not in 4 player co-op. I only see one more collection to be honest: 4, Peace Walker and 5 Ground Zeros and 5 Phantom Pain with Ghost Bable being the extra game. So, I think we will only have a vol.2 which is fine to be honest.
As much I would like Portable Ops and Acid 1,2 I don't think they will create a PSP emulator for just those and they surely can't license Sony's without making the games exclusive. Also, same think with Twin Snakes.
