To Bethesda's credit, we haven't been hearing much about bugs in Starfield so far, but you're always going to get a few issues in a game that's this big, and there's one in particular that seems to have resulted in a few painful realisations.
Over on Reddit, we've seen multiple people describe a bug that relates to "The Den" station and swapping your ship while you're there. The post is now warning others to "NOT board enemy ships to capture them and bring them back to port to sell", as the result is that your ship can become invisible and certain other features can go missing too.
Here's how the bug has been appearing for some players:
"Here is how to reproduce it: Board an enemy ship in space combat. Kill everyone on board. Sit in the pilot's seat. Fly to The Den station in the Wolf system (because pirate ships tend to have contraband on them, so you don't want to go to a major planet). After landing, speak to the technician, and swap back to your primary ship. Go through the airlock back to your ship."
"Here's what happens: When boarding your ship, you are actually teleported back to New Atlantis, landed on the ground already. Your ship is now 95% invisible. The trade kiosk is missing. Various models and geometry are missing."

It's later mentioned in the Reddit post how you can somewhat get around this by talking to the ship technician and adding something small to make your ship reappear, but it won't fix everything such as the missing trade kiosk.
Other commenters have also chipped in to reveal their experiences with the bug so far:
Obviously the best scenario here is to try and avoid this bug entirely, and that's why we're bringing it to your attention. If you have experienced it though, it's worth trying the makeshift fix to see if it works for you, otherwise it's going to be a case of reloading a save or waiting until Bethesda hopefully patches this out in the coming weeks.

This is why i regularly save often and create new saves as well.
I have had no problems at all, so far. I get a little lost, sometimes. But I have been saving regularly. Starfield really does seem to have launched in excellent condition. Unless I have just been lucky, so far.
I save quite regular too. I had one crash so far. The game started seriously stuttering mid game then crashed. It didn't set me back much, but yeah... I save quite often.
Very early days but the only bugs I’ve seen so far has been a few floating objects that were supposed to be on a table. And the camera moving during a conversation (think I was getting pushed out of the way)… been a stark contrast to bethesdas previous games ‘day 1’
As a rule I do always quick save often. Anybody who’s played a Bethesda game should have learned that lesson by now
I got my first ship on the surface of a planet. After killing the pirates i sat in the captain chair and it added to my roster (since on the surface it automatically made it my home ship). I then went to landing spot and went into frontier and sat in the chair. Went to menu and made Frontier my home shop again. Got a message that i have an unregistered ship. And next time i am in spaceport i can register if I want to make changes. So I went and flew Frontier to Jemison spaceport and was able to register then sell. Although registration was expensive and only made a couple thousand on the sale of the ship it appears you do not have to fly it to a port to sell it or register it. Hope this helps stay away from the bug 😊
I found a bug where whilst talking to the NPC Sarah on a mission and enemy entered the room and she broke off mid conversation and started attacking them floating in the air and jumping all over the screen. My character was then frozen with her staring at me and the only way to fix it was to reload a previous save.
so don't steal ships? i was just looking for one to steal lol. guess i'll grind out enough monies to just buy one to finish the main quest.
I tried but I get nauseous so I’ll wait until there’s a fps update … that quantum game did it to me too … also the first impression didn’t pass my eye test when they are in the elevator , everything is shaking but the characters which made it look cheap and detail means a lot with a budget this game had .. I’m nitpicking but yea I’ll check this out once it can do 60
The only glitch I've had is during a takeoff cutscene where my ship took off but it was also still on the ground. It just looked as if its soul was departing to ship heaven.
I've had it crash on me a few times but no major bugs or glitches just some slowdown and stuttering when in built up areas I'm surprised it runs this well on Series S.
I've discovered a game breaking bug
On the empty nest when you take the artifact it doesn't register that you've taken it so now you're stuck there
Unable to progress
9 years this has been in development and yet we have game breaking bugs unreal
I am running into am issue on my Series X where every kiosk that is not a mission kiosk gets stuck and I cannot back out of it.
I asked Reddit but the Starfield community seems to be a lot of whiny PCers complaining about the FPS.
I can't be the only one experiencing this issue, can I?
@RustyStag - I didn't run I to that issue. Has anyone else?
I'm willing to bet they come back with "Uninstaller it then reinstall it, you have a corrupted file" line.
