Microsoft has revealed another four games leaving Xbox Game Pass for the first half of August 2023, and it includes a few pretty big departures such as Death Stranding and Midnight Fight Express.
Here's the full list of what's leaving Xbox Game Pass in early August 2023:
Xbox Game Pass: Leaving Soon (August 15, 2023)

August 15 | Death Stranding | PC |
August 15 | Edge of Eternity | Console, PC, Cloud |
August 15 | Midnight Fight Express | Console, PC, Cloud |
August 15 | Total War: Warhammer III | PC |
As always, these games are available for at least 20% off until they're removed from Xbox Game Pass - we also have some big sales on right now so it's worth checking over there to see if they're even cheaper!

Ah, crap. Been meaning to play Edge of Eternity for a while now. I guess I'll pick it up on sale.
Don't really care about the other ones.
Death Stranding, I always forget that it is in PC Gamepass, so whenever I see a picture on this site I think “Why would they show that game picture in this article”.
I am one of those who really enjoyed that game….one of my more memorable gaming experience from the last few years. I would recommend everyone to access to it to at least give it an opportunity.
@Casco Definitely agree, one of the best games I ever played. For those who haven’t played it yet: don’t rush through it in the coming two weeks but buy it instead. It’s a game that slowly comes to life and keeps you occupied for 100+ hours.
Shame that Death Stranding for Windows never got the Director's Cut. Though it'd be funny if it does shortly after it leaves.
I'm on edge ever since PX said Solasta might be leaving soon, I play once a week with friends and am getting close to the end of one of the DLC campaigns. Hoping to finish without having to buy it!
Midnight fight express was cool, I only ever played a couple of hours but was a lot of fun and always meant to go back, ce la vie
Xbox getting off lightly this month with only two games getting the axe. Big losses for PC though.
Ouch, big losses. I hope with taking off Warhammer 3 and 3 Kingdoms in June that means TW: Pharoah is coming soon, would be a nice add.
At least none of these were in my 91 game backlog
@Casco definitely agree. It's the kind of game where if you tell me you HATED it, I get it, but I absolutely love that game lol
@UnusedBabyWipes it has been given away for free on Epic game store though (although I played the OG on Gamepass to add to my gamerscore )
@Casco I also fell in love with the game even though I totally dismissed it at launch. But I am not sure I played as intended as after having vehicles I almost completely stopped walking (even in the snow mountains and went by truck EVERYWHERE )
I kinda wanted to give Edge of Eternity a try, but always had other things to prioritise. Has anybody given it a try? Any thoughts?
Thankfully nothing on this list I'm worried about
I usually try indie games just before they leave GP to have a motivation to play them. Both
Midnight Fight Express and Edge of Eternity are surprisingly good. The former is indeed fun to play - short levels with detailed evaluation of player's performance. The latter - although developed by small European studio - tries to match full-featured AAA JRPG games in script, mechanics and execution, and although it cannot compete fully, it is still very good.
