Focus Entertainment has announced that Deck13's upcoming open world RPG Atlas Fallen has officially gone gold! The news means that this current-gen-only romp is indeed landing on August 10th, 2023 - swerving any further delays.
We're quite intrigued to see how this one does when it lands on Xbox next month. Developer Deck13 has built up a decent reputation in recent years with its The Surge series amongst other bits and pieces, and the whole style and aesthetic of Atlas Fallen is definitely grabbing our attention so far.
Ultimately, it depends how the game actually plays, but it looks high-octane enough to provide some fun hack and slash thrills next month. Here's what to expect from this action RPG, and we'll drop a link to some extended gameplay below.
"Rise from the dust and glide the sands of a timeless land, filled with ancient dangers, mysteries and fragments of the past. Hunt legendary monsters with powerful sand-infused weapons and abilities in spectacular, super-powered combat."
Is Atlas Fallen firmly on your summer 2023 radar? Let us know!

To be honest this is a bad time to be releasing a lot of RPGs. It is a really crowded field right now.
Got my pre-order locked in! Deck 13 games always offer a lot of replayability so I can't wait to sink a ton of hours into this one. Oh and ICYMI, the game will run at 60 fps, both on the Series X and S.
@Cashews Agreed.
Several games I own, I'm actually completely avoiding because I don't want RPG fatigue by the time Starfield comes out.
So I'm for sure not buying more between now and then. 😂
@InterceptorAlpha right there with you. I have Elden Ring, Persona 5, Xenoblade 1 all queued up but I am avoiding them for the same reason as you. And asking myself if I have a problem by buying more than I can ever hope to play. Like...what global disaster am I preparing for? And won't food and shelter and the lack of electricity and possible werewolves be more important?
I am interested in this game as it certainly looks like something I'd enjoy, however, I am going to wait for the reviews on this one. Normally, I just pre-order anything that piques my interest, but I watched the Fextralife preview and I want to see more now before making my decision. I rely on Fextralife a lot for reviews and character builds, etc. So it they are expressing some concern I feel like I should wait to see what others think first. Really hoping it's a good game though as the world and setting certainly looks like something that I'd like to explore...
@Kaloudz I just tried it for the first time, never played a Souls game once. Died 5 times on the tutorial boss. Things are looking good.
@Cashews I want to say it'll go on to become easier after that but your comment actually has me confused because the first boss fight (Grafted Scion) you encounter will highly probably just beat you which will lead you to begin the actual game.
After which you can find another tutorial boss (Soldier of Godrick) who you can fight multiple times but I haven't seen anyone needing to, even if you're stuck you can just try and find a way out of the cave you're in, go into the open world and level before re-trying or doing other stuff and play with the homies.
@Cherip-the-Ripper I think it was the Soldier. He beat me down multiple times before I realized I couldn't just swing away like an idiot like you do in 99.8% of tutorials across all games. Then I beat him The Scion (at the tree) insta gibbed me. Which I think was the point. I did scream aloud though when he jumped on my face.
@Cashews gratz on beating him, hope you enjoy the rest of the game and maybe I'll see you in one of the many lore videos online 🥹
Scion messed me up real bad as well. Still haven't managed to beat any of from's tutorial bosses first time around 😂
