GameSir has unveiled its latest Xbox accessory this week in the form of the G7 SE Wired Controller, and it's reportedly the "world's first Xbox controller with Hall Effect Sticks" - available right now for $44.99 / £49.99 / €59.99.

If you're wondering what Hall Effect Sticks are, the idea behind them is that they shouldn't be prone to drifting as they use "non-contact magnetic sensors" to ensure durability and reliability.
Here's a good explanation courtesy of HLPlanet:
"Hall effect sensors use the Hall effect phenomenon to detect the position of the joystick. A small magnet is attached to the joystick and a Hall effect sensor is used to measure the voltage generated by the magnetic field. Hall effect sensors are more durable and have a longer lifespan than potentiometer-based joysticks, and they are also more accurate and precise. They are also more resistant to harsh environments."
In addition to the special sticks, the G7 SE Wired Controller also features back button quick latches and a swappable paint-friendly faceplate, which GameSir says "adds an extra layer of individuality to the gaming experience".
We'll throw some more details and screenshots for the controller down below:
"GameSir, a leading provider of innovative, high quality gaming peripherals, today launches its G7 SE Controller, a licensed Xbox controller featuring Hall Effect sticks. This groundbreaking controller offers gamers unparalleled precision and customization options, delivering an enhanced gaming experience across multiple platforms."
"The Anti-drift Hall Effect sticks use non-contact magnetic sensors, ensuring the sticks are extremely durable and reliable, to prevent wearing down prematurely and maintain pinpoint control for an extended time, particularly useful in FPS games. The precision-tuned triggers enable gamers to experience ultra-responsive, smooth, and accurate controls, enhancing gameplay and providing a competitive edge."

If it was wired I would buy one in a heart beat
This is what MS needs to do with the Elite 3 controller. That would be game changing and put a lot of trust into the expensive controller market that just isn’t there now. I also want mouse click triggers on elite 3 and then it’s a wrap for best controller ever for me. Come on MS, start talking about elite 3 soon.
Great price for what it is, hope hall effect becomes a thing for all official controllers going forth.
@UBERSICKO Have I got some news for you!
@UBERSICKO Assuming you meant wireLESS, else you are in luck!
Wired is a hard no for me. It's been over 20 years since the Wavebird
@UBERSICKO Damn it, yes wireless
@XxEvilAshxX stupid dyslexia
@HonestHick With the EU battery law, they will. v2 has to go EOL soon.
I'll never understand why people complain about wired controllers.
What's so great about having to charge your controller? Did you trip over the wire a lot?
@Fishticon Yes, I have before with my headset and controller, that's why I stick with everything wireless now lol
Wireless and I'd think about getting one...
I know wired controllers are not for everybody, but I have a Power A Fusion Pro 2 and it's excellent.
Really comfortable with rubber grips and and no lag and I don't have to change batteries.
I prefer a wired controller so this is great. I don't need another controller though. :/
I might be interested in this depending on reviews.
My wireless controller is currently wired charging the battery pack so a wired controller isn't much of an issue for me.
$44.99 but €59.99? Ouch...
Is this recommended for 2D games?
@Fishticon I have animals and a child. Even before a kid, my animals would run across the room, yank the cable, and drage the console half across the room.
Now take in consideration we have 2 series Xs, and do 4 player split screen games on them frequently, that's too many cables.
For the charging comment: we literally just sit our controller on the charge base each night before bed. Takes 2 seconds.
What's better is despite this, I still have the option to use it as a low latency, wired controller, if the situation called for it.
@Echtzeit iirc that Euro has VAT built in to it.
The US price is without tax.
So this would cost me $49.49 instead.
Couple that with people in the US generally having less disposable than those of Europe, it makes sense from that regard.
I always keep my wireless controller plugged in with a very long cable on PC. So I don't mind using wired controllers. As long as the cable is long enough.
Another controller or 3 more games in the Ultimate sales? … but I will not get it as it does not give me early access to Starfield…
I dream of the day we get an Elite Series 3 with hall effects.
That combined with the four back buttons this one lacks, and a gyro to put it on par with modern controllers, and I'd be happy as happy could be since it would also support Xbox's ultra low latency wireless.
Sounds and looks great, but as long as it's wired, it's a big fat Nope from me.
Now all we need is an Xbox gamepad with a gyroscope (on top of the Hall effect joysticks) and games that support it, and the Xbox gamepad will be perfect.
@NEStalgia i am ready to see what Elite 3 has to offer. I mean I know it’s not going to be a huge departure from what we have now, but i want to see the refinements made to it. If it has worse battery life than the Edge i will find a way to get you on video and eat my shoe. With your permission that you’d want to watch something of that nature.
@HonestHick All I want for Christmas is a mudder trucking gyroscope.
Also, not worth the bet. Even if they accidentally lose the power design blueprints and someone sticks their solar calculator power circuit into the battery terminals, it will still last at least twice as long as the Edge. At least you'll be able to replace the solar panel, too.
@NEStalgia beyond fair. Haha
but there is 8bitDo magnetik driftless stick Controllers and i use it for months now. That is awesome and has some extra features too
https://www.8bitdo.com/ultimate-wired-controller-for-xbox/
Also i have gamesir accessories they are terrible quality.
@kihaennem
Unfortunately that's not the case. 8BitDO did a pretty bad job advertising.
Only the wireless Ultimate, IE non Xbox version, has the hall effect sticks. The wired one you have does not have them. It uses regular sticks that will develop drift.
To add, the wireless one also hase a gyroscope. Something else they left off the wired, Xbox, version.
@UBERSICKO
It IS wired...
@InterceptorAlpha Screw the stupid gyros.
@Hippoposthumous Thankfully they would be optional.
That said, those "stupid gyros" are the reason I'm out shooting every console player while and keeping up with mouse and keyboard players using a controller on PC.
Gyros are awesome for fine tuning your aiming when you get close with your stick.
Nevermind the fact that they're pretty much required for VR and every phone under the sun has one.
But hey, you keep on needlessly hating something that benefits everyone, while literally every other platform supports them. Just let Xbox keep chilling in the stone ages. 😂
I'm going to order one of these tonight. I don't mind wired, as I sit at a computer desk and very close to the Xbox. I have the 8bitdo Ultimate but it isn't perfect, and only used on my PC.
Circling back to this to say, this controller rocks. It's been my go-to on Xbox for a long time now and it really is fantastic. Extremely comfortable form factor, excellent back buttons with locks, good customisability and button mapping options within the app.
The only shame is that Gamesir seem to be running into issues with Microsoft over their 1000Hz mode, which was absolutely brilliant. Its since been dropped from the app for Xbox, though it's still available on PC and I hear it's a firmware thing so technically you could keep using it on Xbox having updated it on PC.
