Just like May's first major expansion for 2022's Saints Row, 'Doc Ketchum’s Murder Circus' adds a brand-new playable area for all base game owners to explore - and the free update is out now.
New Birmingham Island is "the Doc’s very own creepy circus version of the Boot Hill District" and has a distinctly Halloween theme despite its July release date. Here's what Volition is bringing with the free portion of this update:
- A visual revamp of the Boot Hill District with new things to discover
- The New Cheats App Mode that comes with 20 clean and 18 dirty cheats
- New Cosmetics & Items like the Pony Tail and Doc’s Medicine Cart Horse
- Quality of Life improvements on Missions, Criminal Ventures, Side Hustles, Skills and more.
There's also a paid expansion to coincide with today's update that introduces a "new standalone solo mode with a horde-style gameplay loop" along with "four new playable characters, each with [their] own unique skillset".
This is the second of three major expansions due for Saints Row this year, with the third and final add-on scheduled to launch in August. You'll find the premium version of Doc Ketchum's Murder Circus on the Xbox Store for £7.99 / $9.99, or as part of Saints Row's £24.99 / $29.99 Expansion Pass.
Fancying some spooky shenanigans in Saints Row this July? Let us know if you're booting the game up to explore New Birmingham Island!

New Birmingham? So no Spaghetti Junction, the Bullring and maybe Digbeth to visit?
Sweet. I'll be checking this out!
@BeerIsAwesome Im honestly surprised, I thought they might slink away and just do "enough" to get by.
I've almost bought this at 20 several times, think I'll just keep waiting and hoping it ends decently
