After ditching 'The' from its name, Lords Of The Fallen finally got dated for a Fall 2023 release back in May, and everything we've seen of the game since has looked absolutely fantastic. That trend continues this week, as a newly-released extended gameplay demo has hugely impressed us once again.
Lords of the Fallen is definitely looking like a soulslike done right, from presentation to gameplay and everything in between - we just hope it feels as good to play as it looks when the title lands on Xbox Series X|S!
We've dropped the team's new presentation up at the top of the article, which contains almost 20 minutes of fresh gameplay alongside some commentary on how the game will play come launch this fall.
"Taking place in a vast, semi-open world, the new video showcases just a few of the many diverse and harrowing environments players will journey through in their epic quest to overthrow Adyr, the demon God.
With each major area interconnected with at least two others, the order in which players venture through these lands is largely up to them. However, they’ll not only need to survive one world in this extensive RPG experience, but two, thanks to the game’s unique dual realm mechanic."
If you haven't already got Lords of the Fallen circled on your calendar, CI Games' upcoming souslike RPG is coming to Xbox Series X and S on October 13th, and we have a feeling it could be one of this year's sleeper hits.
Are you falling for these lords this fall? Let us know if this is one you might grab for Xbox in October.

Been keeping up with this one. Had a good time with the original. But this looks to be on a whole 'nother level.
I think this will be game #2 for Unreal 5 engine on X/S - next gen is starting! (Remenant 2 was the first)
The melee combat sound effects seem to lack punch, but there are a lot of good ideas on display here!
Didn't get very far with the first one, but this looks like a big improvement. Loving the idea of 2 realms and 2 lives. Hopefully combat feels good and the game is tough but fair. Nothing kills a souls-like quicker than unfair combat and bad difficulty pacing.
@AlwaysPlaying That is incorrect. This will not be the second game for Unreal 5 for X/S. Fortnite and Layers Of Fear are UE5. Immortals Of Aveum will also be releasing next month.
@AverageGamer ok - yes 👍 I felt I may have been wrong on that….
Really depends on the gameplay and difficulty. They should release a demo.
I need to play this but it is releasing on the tail end of one of the most insane release windows I can remember. I think it's going to have to wait a bit.
