Hogwarts Legacy's belated arrival on Xbox earlier this year made serious waves - the open world Harry Potter romp became a huge hit almost instantly, especially commercially. Well, those magical sales don't seem to be slowing down in Europe.
Outlet GamesIndustry.biz has just released a roundup of the region's best-selling games of 2023 so far, and Hogwarts Legacy is at the very top of the charts. Here in the UK, it managed to beat the nation's second-best seller in FIFA 23 by a whopping 124%!
The site's data covers physical and digital sales from the majority of big game publishers across most European nations, however Nintendo's digital sales are the big absentee, with Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom coming in at number four as a result.
We don't know the exact platform splits either, so one of these other entries could have sold better than Hogwarts Legacy on Xbox specifically. Still, it's safe to say the Harry Potter adventure is easily the best-selling multiplatform game in Europe so far this year, and to be honest, we're not surprised. Here's Europe's current top 10 at the time of writing:
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Diablo 4
- FIFA 23
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Physical Only)
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
- NBA 2K23
- Resident Evil 4
