It was about a year ago that reports started to suggest EA might be working on a Black Panther game, and it's now been officially confirmed! The title is being developed by the new EA studio Cliffhanger Games, and is described as a third-person, single-player experience.
Here's what Cliffhanger's Kevin Stephens had to say about the game in a press release today:
"We’re dedicated to delivering fans a definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their narrative than they have ever experienced in a story-driven video game. Wakanda is a rich Super Hero sandbox, and our mission is to develop an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do."
The development team is made up of veterans who have worked on the likes of Call of Duty, God of War, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and even Halo Infinite, so it sounds as though the game is in good hands!
We'll have to wait to find out more, but here's hoping it'll come to Xbox Series X and Series S at launch.

Great of them to strike while the iron is ice cold. Maybe by then the shadow of the Avengers game will have lifted.
This is separate from the Black Panther game with Captain America in it that was announced last year, right? Lot of super hero games to look forward too.
@PhileasFragg yes i agree with part of the fact that the marvel studios have peaked and the fact that boseman had died but when you think spiderman 2 is going to be massive and insomniac are also working on wolverine this will be a welcome relief espicailly if given hedi order treatment
too late super hero fatigue has Definitely set in
This is going to be be Marvel's Avengers, but you only llay ad Black Panther, isn't it?
Real talk though, if someone could make some suer hero experiences that rival the Playstation Spider-Man games, that'd be awesome. And I mean, they have the Wolverine game that's going to be at the same level.
I'm playing through Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions on 360 right now. Fantastic Spiderverse gane, just not Sony Spider-Man level.
@Gloki_junior I think there'll still be a market there for it, but not the best timing. Compared to Spiderman and Wolverine those are two popular franchise characters for decades with loads of games, movies, cartoons, etc. Black Panther was practically unknown until the movie. Same as the Guardians of the Galaxy.
I'm just baffled at how the AAA games industry weren't champing at the bit to make big budget Marvel movie games for years.
