If you're a hardcore Soul Calibur fan, then you might be saddened to hear that Soul Calibur V is being delisted forever on the Xbox Store next week, along with all of its DLC. The termination date is June 19th, 2023.
The news was announced on the official Soul Calibur Twitter account a few days ago:
"Valiant Warriors - Soul Calibur V is taking its final curtain call on the stage of history and will be sunset on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on June 19, 2023. The base game and all associated DLC will no longer be available for purchase. Thank you for your continued support."
Fortunately, this isn't too much of a big deal because Soul Calibur V is at least available to purchase physically if you want it, and it was never actually made backwards compatible on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
However, if you have any interest in the DLC (of which there are 70+ pieces you can purchase!), you'll need to grab it before it disappears forever on June 19th. To find it, you can head to the Soul Calibur V Xbox 360 Marketplace page.

This smells like they observed (or took part in) the fomo of the 3DS/Wii U store shutdown and liked the sales of those very much - so they are testing the waters here with things that no one would ever normally purchase ever. Clever marketing strategy. The 70 DLCs was the biggest waste of money then and now - but someone will claim "preservation" and buy all of it for sure for a youtube video of it.
I will need to check I have this game.
I have the amazing Soulcalibur 2 HD Online digital, safe with me.
Fantastic game and one of the best fighters ever made. I have the Dreamcast port on my Series X etc.
I will likely get the DLC character but honestly this was my least played SC game. So I am not terribly hurt.
I’ve got this already so I’ll make sure I’ve got my DLC downloaded before it’s removed. Once upon a time I had SC4 and the Yoda & Darth Vader DLC characters, but later sold the game and deleted it from my hard drive.
Fast forward a few years and I bought it again for nostalgia but the DLC is no longer listed, and I’m not prepared to sift through 15+ years of digital purchase history to re-download them.
I was able to get a copy of Soul Calibur II HD a few months ago and honestly that's the only Soul Calibur game I need.
Another one of these 360-exclusive digital titles that I wasn't even aware was available lol. Don't really see the point of digital 360 games anymore, either they work on One or Series Xboxes or there is no point in having them. I already got a physical disc edition of this game anyways.
@Tasuki Yeah SC 1 and 2 have always been by far the best entries in the series.
@Zochmenos Yup, nailed it. SC3 was a huge disappointment for me back in the day. SC4 actually felt like a better game to me, probably the highlight as far as the post-SC2 games are concerned.
The first two games are just total classics though, back when it was centered around a great cast of characters with personality, and a fun arcade mode that never gets old.
@ChopperCampbell
It might be not as bad as you think unless you have been buying Rock Band songs weekly or something. (My PS3 profile situation).
