SEGA has unveiled another brand-new Sonic game following last year's Sonic Frontiers! This one won't be such a large-scale affair, but Sonic Superstars harkens back to the old days of the series with a full 2D perspective.
The team is bringing the title into the modern day with a brand-new art style though, as mentioned in SEGA's brief synopsis of the game:
"Sonic and friends are back with an all-new look! Join Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose on an adventure that takes "classic" to another level. Team up with friends, master new powers from the Chaos Emeralds, and speed through all brand-new zones on your way to take down Dr. Eggman (and co)!"
You can expect to be speeding around as the 'Blue Blur' on Xbox in Fall 2023.
What do you make of Sonic Superstars? Let us know if you like the new art style down below.

@MustachioFurioso looks so awesome!
I'm interested in this solely because at the end they showed Fang the Sniper, which my lord has it been a long time since he was even mentioned by a game.
This looks very good, I love the art style..
This looked very good, looking forward to playing it!
Omg SEGA…come on, you introduced the world to cell shaded graphics…cell shaded sonic would be perfect aesthetic.
The title is weird. Hopefully, it's good Sonic platforming and level design like the 16-bit games. I didn't like the "fan-made" new levels, not the themes that are based in discarded Sega's concepts but the new level design and the new music in Sonic Mania, so I'm wondering if Sega themselves are developing this game. I hope so.
I don't care. Until Sega gives more of their legacy IPs...particularly their amazing RPGs like Shining Force and Skies of Arcadia...another chance, I'll never invest another penny on a Sonic game.
It really looks promising. These types of Sonic games were always the best.
I like Sonic Frontiers a lot but 2D is where the Sonic games thrived in the past, looking forward to playing this one.
This was the best announcement for me, it's amazing
I'm really looking forward to it
I have mixed feelings on this one. I definitely prefer the pixel artstyle but I am not against this one. However I am afraid that they could ruin the gameplay (like they did in generations which for me is Unplayable on 2d sections). If it is not frame by frame like mega drive style get the hell out. Lastly the pricetag is not correct unless they have a LOT of content
Love Sonic and Frontiers was amazing in my opinion but didn’t expect another Sonic game so soon after that. Kinda reminds me of Generations so if it’s anything like that then should be good. Does look proper epic so let’s hope so.
It's been a really long time since I played a sonic game, who is the raccoon/opossum in the very very beginning?
He's hiding behind a tree and looks kinda like secret squirrel. LoL
Q) What do you make of Sonic Superstars?
A) I'm liking the look of it so far. The return of Fang is really cool to see and I've always appreciated the classic 2D Sonic games for their co-op appeal, so seeing that expanded to 4 players is a real treat. I imagine I could have a lot of fun playing this game with my niece and nephews.
I still have two spare slots for my game purchases of this year and this could be.
