yakuza like a dragon is an absolute amazing game so funny and just amazing if you haven’t played like a dragon you definitely won't be disappointed
@Utena-mobile
The only yakuza game I ever played was like a dragon and I absolutely loved this game but apparently all the yakuza games are really good so it's entirely up to you
But Like a dragon has a completely different fighting system to previous yakuza games and you don't need to play previous games to have an understanding of yakuza like a dragon I personally would start with yakuza like a dragon
@Utena-mobile sorry for jumping in, but yeah Yakuza 7:Like a Dragon is perfect jumping on point, Ichiban himself "missed" Yakuza 0-6 so "not knowing what's going on in larger Yakuza world" is very much his experience.
@Kaloudz opposite for me, was weird hearing Ichiban in Japanese! Granted in the whole series I've only played Yakuza Like a Dragon and understand the older games with the other protagonist didn't have that option. I can say if you haven't had the pleasure of hearing it, the english voice acting is absolutely stellar.
The hermit crab part is hilarious. I've bought most of the games, I want to start with 0.
@Utena-mobile Very different genres. GTA and saints are just action sandbox games. Yakuza/lad are huge RPGs. They play more like the old bioware games. Keep in mind that for kiryus part of the story this is basically Yakuza 10 and the story is continuous. The good news is the while series is or often is in game pass. The bad news is each one is like a 100 hour game.... Starting with ichibans saga may be the way to go. Ichis games are both turn based rpg (directly referencing dragon quest), all others including the judgement spinoffs are an action brawler battle system but all are very much RPGs.
@Utena-mobile
Good news: the game has nothing in common with GTA or Saint's Row. Not even its focus on "a criminal". Ichiban is the "henchman with a heart of gold" stereotype of character and is more a hero than anything else, and the games are not open world chaos simulators. Some of the earlier entries do have some small open-worldish elements, but they are confined to very small areas (like a neighborhood/turf) and not large cities or anything like that. You wont ever drive a vehicle (at least not on the last entry.)
That was confusing. Do men not notice if they are naked? Killed my interest. I will wait on another trailer. I know Ichiban isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed but this makes him look like an idiot. At least the other Kiryu game is on the way.
@Kaloudz Sorry I think it's only Like a Dragon, the JRPG, that's the only Yakuza game I've played. I've never played the beat em ups.
