This week marked the arrival of Double Fine's Massive Chalice on Xbox Game Pass, and in a follow-up post on social media yesterday, the Xbox studio teased that there was "more to come" on the subscription service.
No specifics were provided, but the wording β and image seen above β got a lot of people talking:
"If you're looking for something fabulous, we have plenty of great games on Xbox Game Pass.
There's something for everyone and more to come!"
At this point, most of the Double Fine titles that you'd expect to be on Xbox Game Pass are already present, so there's not much left to choose from. Games like Rad, Headlander and The Cave are all possibilities, but each of those had different publishers, so it might not be as simple as that.
Of course, Double Fine might be alluding to something new that could be unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11th, or perhaps some older PC titles that might find their way to PC Game Pass.
It's anyone's guess for now, but we're definitely very interested in more Double Fine Game Pass additions!

It's probably most likely to be older titles. Good to see their back-catalogue being added into Game Pass. I was surprised by Iron Brigade, and plan on trying out Massive Chalice.
Maybe a reveal at their show in 2 weeks?
I have no clue why, but I had not realized Massive Chalice was a Double Fine game, and therefore a First Party game. Every time I saw it I thought it was a third party indie title. Did MS highlight this at all? Or am I missing something?
Edit: never mind, just realized the game was actually published in 2015 and itβs just being added to GP. I thought it was a new game, this clarifies it.
Rad's great, hope it does come to gamepass so more people can enjoy it
Scalebound is one of them
Their games generally donβt excite me, simply not my type/style. That said, I like that thereβs something for everyone on Game Pass and glad to see more offerings. Massive Chalice had my attention though, so Iβll give it a try #loveGamePass
Iβm wondering if Phil Spencerβs comments during his post redfall interview, βcollections of gamesβ coming was referring to this back catalog of Double Fine games. I think most of us just assumed it was likely a Gears remastered collection he was referring to, but maybe not?
Psychonauts had a different publisher and it made it onto Game Pass.
Microsoft and Sega are pretty buddy-buddy these days, so The Cave might be a realistic possibility.
I really enjoy Double Fine, especially when it brought back to fantastic point-and-click classics!
I'm guessing Stacking (self-published on PC and later for consoles in 2013) and a possible shadow drop at the showcase. RAD was on PSNow but not on GP so it might come, albeit not permanently.
Having just played through the original Psychonauts again and being a big fan of Tim Schaffer I'm pretty excited for what they might show
I'd guess Stacking and The Cave Remastered. Costume Quest got added to Game Pass last year and Stacking had the same publisher. As for The Cave, you can't buy it anymore on Xbox so if it was to appear on Game Pass it would be in the form of a remaster.
@GiveMeMoney Good call, a collection of their pre-XB1 Xbox games that aren't Kinect or licensed games (Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, Costume Quest, Stacking, The Cave, Iron Brigade) would fit that hint well.
I reckon we'll see a new smaller Double Fine game announced at the showcase. Psychonauts 2 was 2 years ago and they had other games in development which they put on hold to prioritise that title. They normally put a game out every couple of years so a new interesting game from then makes sense!
Absolutely great studio as well! Brutal Legend 2 please!
Stacking is a FANTASTIC game. It would be a great idea to add it on Gamepass, I hope it'on one of the two hdden game (and hope the second is a new one).
I love Double Fine, I love that they make gameβs different from others and arenβt afraid to be creative. Itβs like a breath of fresh air so what ever they add to gamepass is a warm welcome from me. I donβt expect them to be at the Xbox showcase but will be a nice surprise if they are!
After Psychonauts 2, I'm up for whatever comes next out of Double Fine π
Imagine if Double Fine had been secretly working on Conker's Other Bad Fur Day & we got to see it in Juneππ
Ah its nice to dream....
@Ichiban to quote Clint Barton:
Don't give me hope.
A developer owned by Microsoft will release games for game pass. Wow that is a surprise .
P.s: I doubt this is a clue about something being show in the next showcase but just saying we are working on something that we will show in due course
@Markatron84 that game was amazing i loved it
