We have a new Xbox Game Pass drop today - well, sort of! Weird West came to the service just over a year ago when the title first launched, but now Devolver Digital is bringing a proper current-gen version to the library today, May 8.
The team says that this port includes "all the bells and whistles" for Xbox Series X|S, including full 4K and 60FPS support on Series X and PS5. Beyond these technical details we don't know much else about 'Weird West: Definitive Edition', but here's some more info on the base game if you skipped it last year.
Weird West: Definitive Edition (Xbox Series X, Series S)
"Discover a dark fantasy reimagining of the Wild West where lawmen and gunslingers share the frontier with fantastical creatures. Journey through the story of a group of atypical heroes, written into legend by the decisions you make in an unforgiving land."
We really dug this one when it first arrived on Xbox, so Weird West: Definitive Edition should be well worth a go on Game Pass!
Are you going to give this new version of Weird West a go when it lands on Game Pass today? Let us know!

I enjoyed this on release, but the stick shooting was undercooked. Hopefully this re-release will cover the issues.
So Series X can do 60fps!!!! Sometimes!!!
@TheArtfulDodger It can do 120fps as well... When it wants to.
Hopefully they have spent that time also polishing and improving the game, which at launch was a bit rough and less interesting that i'd hoped.
@BobCoffee Yep, it should be arriving later today! Devolver said "more details next week" last Tuesday when it was revealed and included in the Game Pass roundup.
I need to give this another go. I played it when it first came on GamePass but bounced off it pretty quickly, maybe I was distracted by other games.
So, from watching the vid above, is this something of a third person isometric ARPG akin to Diablo and Path of Exile? If so, then I will definitely give this one a go, as that style of game is one of my top favorites. Or is it more of just a straight forward action game? It was kind of hard to tell from above.
Definitely gonna give this game a try. Anything with "horror" element is something I love to see.
@TheArtfulDodger @ZYDIO 120 fps be lot more widespread if Series S did not exist.
I did enjoy what I played ..I did I think 2 of the campaigns....but then I must have got side tracked with something else and never returned
The campaigns got a bit repetitive, even with the difference in your characters and the carried-over elements. It had a lot of promise, but (for me) ran a bit dry in the end.
@GuyinPA75 I do wonder about that. I always thought they could just scale down the resolution and texture detail for the S and call it a day. Kind of like a different profile for a lower spec PC.
Very interesting game with some very neat mechanics, but ultimately this is the type of game I want to play in coop - and that’s not an option here.
