If you've somehow managed to miss this over the last few hours, Redfall is now available on Xbox Game Pass. Arkane's new vampiric looter shooter has arrived on the service day one - across Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
Reviews and impressions started to hit the web late last night, including our own written review here at Pure Xbox. We'll drop our full write up down below, along with a roundup of what other critics are saying about this new Game Pass FPS.

i’m watching twitch streams of it first to see if it’s worth a gamepass sub at the least since redfail already is getting negative reactions

That's how I'm feeling about it.
Was always going to wait for 60fps and a few patches, as it was clear this was coming in very hot. But it's sad to see that performance is the least of it's troubles and reviewers are mostly just saying it's an average to bad game.
Still going to play it eventually but the poor reviews have pushed it down my backlog. Feels like Xbox needs a W or three right now.
I was going to play it tonight but I'm now on the fence after seeing the reviews coming in. Not only is it launching on console at 30fps but clearly not in any kind of finished state. When they announced that it should have been obvious it was no where near finished and being released just to have something on Gamepass for a deadline.
I was going to wait for the 60fps Patch but now I am not sure I will play it at all...
Even over on the Xbox series X subreddit this game is getting slaughtered and people are posting clips of all sorts of bugs. A lot of disappointed Xbox fans too who are asking questions as to why this keeps happening. Not good.
Available today - but not as a 'finished' product - more an unofficial Beta that will be patched/fixed over time... LOL

I'm going vampire hunting tonight regardless of the brutal reviews for the game but man, the missing performance mode seems to be the least of Redfall's problems at the moment (why release if not fully finished?) . How did the studio behind the fantastic Prey release this in such a state.. .

Well, there is that at least.
Probably the worst game I have played this year. And I have played about 25 so far. I wouldn't say it is inherently a bad game, but it sure isn't inherently good either. Performance on Series S is poor, I don't even care about 30fps, but those textures, the AI and the pretty but overall empty world meant I just did not have any fun after 2-3 hours.
Thankfully there is usually at least 1 game per month that keeps me subscribed.
I've played a few hours and the word that keeps coming to mind is "rushed". It feels like this project was pushed because Arkane felt it could be profitable, but it needed more time, even with the delays. I saw someone compare it to Fallout 76, which is fair, because I do expect there to be several extensive patches made for Redfall. It's probably a 6/10 right now but many of the shortcomings seem fixable, honestly. A patch could add more enemies, possibly make them more aware of you (they often just stare at you for a few seconds before reacting), some graphical polish, etc. There's a pretty good game in there somewhere, but this is a bad look right now. Microsoft needed a win here, especially after Benedict Fox. All I can say is that Starfield had better be great...
It's just all a bit "meh". It's alright. Graphics etc alright. Gameplay alright. Just got a bit bored after a few hours. And when that's much other stuff to play at the moment can't justify any more time on it right now.
Phil spencer really approved of this game to be released today is he on drugs ?
Should be a beta then Released October for Halloween vibes but what do I know
