Hot on the heels of 2021's Hot Wheels Unleashed, the team has announced a sequel! Yep, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged hits Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on October 19th, and we have a brand new cinematic reveal trailer to go with it.
'Turbocharged' builds on the foundations laid down by Hot Wheels Unleashed, adding motorbikes, ATVs and new racing surfaces into the mix. Developer Milestone is also introducing two new abilities — 'dash' and 'jump' — that allow for increased mobility out on the track.
The team is also bringing new game modes and online features to Unleashed 2, including an "enhanced" story campaign and full cross-play between PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
Here's what Milestone CEO Luisa Bixio has to say about the upcoming sequel:
"We are truly delighted with the enthusiasm shown by the press and players toward the first title, a global success that reached more than 8 million players worldwide,
Building on the solid foundation that granted us unanimous acclaim, with Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged we decided to create a brand-new gaming experience to raise the bar of arcade fun even higher. Having a partner like Mattel by our side is a great reason to be proud, and we are ready to race even faster toward new shared goals."
It's worth noting that the first game — and a bunch of its DLC content — is still a part of the Xbox Game Pass library, so if you want a taste of the series before heading into the sequel this October, Game Pass is a great way to try out the first Hot Wheels Unleashed!

Motorcycles huh? Depending what bikes might have be interested.
Enjoyed the first one so look forward to the sequel.
Grindy unlocks aside, the first game was fantastic so I'm absolutely up for this 👍
All I want is to have the event content be set up similar to Crash Nitro Kart, where you can get it long after the event's ended, since the first game is perpetually 90% complete for everyone as a result.
All they need to add is up to 4-player local multiplayer to get a purchase from me.
