Update: It looks like the Xbox version of XDefiant should be working as intended shortly:
Original story: Ubisoft has been having a busy few days with the XDefiant Beta on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS5 and PC, and the good news is that players seem to be really enjoying it so far - at least when the servers are working!
In fact, one of the terms that keeps getting thrown around is "COD killer", and while some people really don't like that phrase, there are undoubtedly a lot of comparisons being thrown around between XDefiant and Call of Duty:
If you're wondering how to get access to the XDefiant Beta on Xbox to try it for yourself, we've provided a guide about this elsewhere on Pure Xbox - just keep in mind that you may struggle to find a usable code right now. Nevertheless, the latest closed beta doesn't end until this Sunday (April 23rd), so there's plenty of time left to join the action.
The one thing you'll need to keep in mind, at least for the time being, is that the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions of xDefiant have been suffering major server issues. Basically, the servers have been disabled for much of the weekend, and the hope is that a patch will be pushed out early this week to rectify this:
Here's hoping XDefiant's latest beta will have a smoother ride over the next few days, and then we can all join the fun and see what the hype is about! It sounds like Ubisoft could be onto a winner with this one.

Looks very interesting. Just signd up. Opefully there will be an entrance for me soon.
@Kaloudz No date yet.
It looks nice but I don't think I could invest my time into another Ubisoft F2P after they killed off Hyper Scape.
@Kaloudz I think that's what this XDefiant changed into.
Ubisoft is all over the place and very unorganized. I'll be surprised if they even stay with this name.
This game looks more generic than CrossFireX
for me it felt like generic-nothing new hero shooter but f2p so its okay
Have they confirmed if it's still coming to Xbox One?
For everyone that was saying no way Sony could be a COD replacement, look at how fast this game has gained viewers. Not saying it’s a COD killer and it has lots to update, Fix and prove in the months and year ahead, but the attention and praise it is getting is nothing short of proof that FPS games can do well and coexist with COD. I have both eyes on this one as i want it to be something big. I like what I’m seeing so far, next up can Ubisoft polish this game to near perfection, cause if so they have a serious chance with it.
