If you're looking to freshen up your Xbox Series X|S dashboard, you might want to check out the latest dynamic background available. This time around, it's based on Arkane Austin's upcoming co-op vampire FPS, Redfall.
To apply it, you'll need to head over to the Settings menu > Personalisation > My Background > Dynamic Backgrounds. Here's a look at it courtesy of Klobrille on social media:
Redfall will make its release on Xbox Series X|S and PC, along with Game Pass next month on 2nd May. Unfortunately, we did get some rather game-changing news earlier this month, revealing the title will be capped at 30fps on console at launch - with a performance update to be rolled out at a later date.

Nice one for sure, now get rid of the add’s and the big block to the left and we got something here. That alone makes the Home Screen pretty good, i am sure there is more that could be done.i want the Ui trimmed way down and to be HDR.
Another dynamic background that we will not see.
@Kaloudz maybe once they fix the Home Screen and make it less cluttered they will flood a bunch, that would be cool, i would pay for a Diablo 4 or Gears of war one. I would think it’s a safe bet we see one for Forza and Fable and Starfield when they launch.
Nope. Had enough of hearing about the game now. Left a bad taste in the mouth. I think it's clear evidence Microsoft have lost the plot, they're now releasing unfinished games.
Still baffles me why they don’t put these by masses in the store as downloadable backgrounds. For a small fee of course. Or put them in the games as a reward when unlocking a specific achievement like we’ve had with the gamerpics on the 360. I think , even though you don’t see much from them at the moment with the cluttered dashboard , people want to have that stuff from their favorite game.
Presumably this runs at 30fps and they’ll patch it at a later date?
@Kaloudz they could just put them in the store tab like they already do and call it a day. Sometimes the same add is there twice and it’s just to much. They said they heard the complaints and said they are working on it with the new 2023 Home Screen update, so i am excited to see what that means and looks like.
@Sebatrox I've had this conversation lots and I always say - if you're fine playing at 30 fps then good for you. I am a little jealous even. But.... this game is intended to be 60 fps (it was even part of the marketing build up & a listed feature until recently on the store). The game isnt finished. That's not good. No getting around that.
And 30 is just horrible for so many of us in 2023.
@Kaloudz still no word when they plan to release it. They are updating it slowly in the insider program, but as for a finished full release i am not sure even MS knows. They did say the insider feedback was good for them to hear and they heard it loud and clear that it’s cluttered on the home screen and they intend to come up with fixes.
@Kaloudz i hear what you mean. Seems like a no crap thought, but this is MS after all. They are good at getting in their own way at times. I am hopeful they hit a nice looking Home Screen and then move on to the achievements page and get it in better shape.
@Kaloudz yeah a new coat of paint to make it feel less Xbox one wouldn’t hurt my feelings either. I am not sure that is what they are working on tho. Seems like updates to the current layout.
@Kaloudz they sure take their time as if they are in no hurry to innovate, meanwhile sony was able to redo their Ui and controller. However i don’t think the Ui on PS5 is great, but it’s functional. I do like the features of the controller tho, feels new and different. MS needs to take more chances with its software and Ui, however they have done great things with their services in my opinion.
@Kaloudz Dreamcast was fun, i bought one at launch. 9/9/99
Yeah the PS5 controller has a lot more tech in it than the Xbox, but i like the way the Xbox feels in hands. It’s really comfy for me. The new PS controller is just so so in hand for me. I like its features but it’s a little uncomfortable after 45 mins or so. Yeah Kinect for sure made MS gun shy to innovate this gen, i think you’re right about that.
@Kaloudz i agree 100% with that post. Well said. We will see what they do cause Sony is pulling way ahead again and MS needs a few games or big announcements to come out and build some positive energy around the brand. I really thought this gen would be a tad different for them but it’s starting to slip. It’s hard to find much positive news around the brand these days. Which to me is just sad. Heck even i am now thinking of getting SF6 and Diablo 4 on PS5. It’s getting harder to trust in the brand i have used as my daily driver since the launch of Xbox 360.
@Kaloudz Haha good one, i like that. Yeah thats true for sure. I think more people want to like Xbox than many others think. They just need to get better games releasing on time and of course the power of marketing. Marketing is such a big thing and they haven’t been the best at that.
@Kaloudz yeah they need to build up some better marketing efforts. It could only help right.
@Kaloudz HAHA right.
