Update: It looks like Xbox's advertising of Candy Crush Saga may have turned out to be a mistake. Shortly after this article went live, the ad was swiftly removed from the Microsoft Rewards app on Xbox.
Our best guess here is that the Windows 10 PC version was accidentally being displayed on the Xbox Store.
We'll let you know if we get any further developments about this.
Original story: Microsoft doesn't own the company behind mega mobile hit Candy Crush just yet (although progress is being made on that front), but it looks like we could be getting the game on Xbox for the first time in the near future.
Microsoft Rewards is already advertising the title on Xbox, which takes you to the product page when you hit the link. There's no release date, but we're assuming it'll be pretty soon - as long as the listing isn't a mistake, of course.

Interestingly, an Xbox One-supported version of Candy Crush Saga was also spotted back in August and September of 2022 by various Xbox users as part of their game libraries, and it still exists today with the "Xbox One" tag if you search for it on the official Xbox mobile app, but as far as we're aware, you can't yet access it on console. That said, there are also various other games with the "Xbox One" tag on the official Xbox app that can't be accessed on console.
Microsoft already offers the game on multiple platforms including Windows PC right now, so an Xbox version makes sense. We'll just have to wait and see whether it comes to fruition, and whether it'll be well-optimised for console if so.

Yeah i'm not shocked MS want this on Xbox as its the type of addictive greedy money hole MS would love to inflict on its playerbase. Its clear MS want more trash like this and i expect King is what they were really after in the deal.
@WallyWest Yeah I hate this too, all this mobile trash.
@WallyWest
Every company wants to make more an more money. This is nothing new. And it is up to gamers to decide what they spend their money on.
There is nothing wrong with offering popular games from mobile onto XB.
Now, do I want to play it? No. But I see tons of people play it on mobile, so I would expect there are lots of people who would play it. Just because we won't play it, doesn't mean it should not be there to play it.
@Kaloudz i see the anti-xbox crowd has already made their way into this article lol this is just promoting a big IP to bring to more players and make money, don't see why they even care ...
It's interesting that people would be upset that a game is coming to a new marketplace. It's one thing if you simply decide not to buy it but why block others from it if it's something somebody might want?
@Somebody They'll be happy once King creates a third person over the shoulder single player narrative driven Candy Crush adventure, where a struggling candy corn father must make amends with his licorice child and go on a grand adventure to save the candy kingdom, or something like that. It has to be $69.99, too. If it isn't $69.99 it's clearly rubbish. Then the naysayers will embrace Candy Crush.
@SplooshDmg why did you just leak the plot of the last of us part 3? Somebody needs to take legal action here.
@Kaloudz I think when they made the decision to go full in on game pass in 2017 and with them being third place in the market and it getting more and more expensive to get game into that service (and other companies outright making it so a company has to put in writing a multiplat can't be put in there) they knew they had to make their 1st party so huge that they wont have to try and overpay to make deals with other companies, that they can only start to rely on themselves.
@Snake_V5 @WallyWest This so-called "trash" generates a ton of money, though!
I am not a fan of mobile games either, but the reach and revenue far exceeds console gaming.
Must be a trashed ATM that somehow found a power source and is connected to a trashed money printing machine that also has a power source.
Richest junk yard I have ever seen.
😁
I wonder if we'll eventually get Mighty DOOM on Xbox as well
@Kaloudz Imagine wanting MS at the top in power, let me guess you're fine with Disney, Apple, Amazon, Tencent and Google being where they are? You must be because MS is off that breed of Corp as well. What MS is doing will benefit gamers only in the short run, when MS is top though we got that original X1 plan and MS ditching exclusives at the end of the 360's run that aren't their big 3. MS at top is actually really bad for gaming because they have more in common with the likes of EA and Activision then Sony and Nintendo ever have been. Being blunt anyone celebrating this deal is a corporate boot licker. Gaming is only getting darker it seems and sadly most of the Xbox playerbase is all for it because "Xbox and MS are angels and Gamepass is perfect".
King alone brings in a tonne of money, enough money infact that they are why I don't believe Activision were really going bust. That coupled with the amount call of duty mobile and warzone were raking in? No chance.
@Kaloudz Imagine all those awesome games we'll see in game pass. Man the future is looking bright and I can't wait! Love me some consolidation!
@WallyWest Are the employees of ABK begging for better working conditions and the unions supporting them and this merger just boot lickers too? Asking for a friend.
@Kaloudz DBZ Kai would be the definitive version if it had the Faulconer music. I can't watch DBZ without it. So good!
Personally I love how candy crush plays, but hate the monetization.
Same applies to Solitaire, but Game Pass members get a way friendlier version of Solitaire. My hope is, once this deal is through, Candy Crush and other king games start offerings similar integration with Game Pass as Solitaire does right now.
@Tharsman have you played Mighty Doom? I heard people really enjoy it, but havent tried it myself.
@Kaloudz NOOOOOOOOOOO. Lol they need to redeem themselves there, that movie just wasn't it. Put a big budget behind it.
@Kaloudz i HOPE you've seen Dragon Ball Super: Super hero from last year. movie was awesome!
@Kaloudz i was a krillin fan too, originally, but being the one hit wonder that he is (one punch and he's done with) the arrival of trunks episode i watched on VHS way back in the day and instantly fell in love with the character. The Trunks arc in DBS is EASILY the best one. he's a beast.
Removed - inappropriate language
@WallyWest its obvious you are upset by the news of the day, but must you really keep insulting everyone that disagrees with you on your view of this deal?
@WallyWest I almost guarantee you Bobby is not sticking around, they've basically said as much. The best part is you assuming I'm some raving Xbox fan. I don't even own an Xbox, my daughter has one, but I personally do not. I'm on PC, PS5 and Switch, so yeah, I wouldn't have an issue with Sony buying ABK, because Sony, like Microsoft, is a reputable corporation that isn't run like a dumpster fire and by a sludge creature like Kotick. So, please, continue.
@Kaloudz For starters i own a Xbox and i'm a Gamepass sub and its how i'm playing and loving Valheim right now but it doesn't mean i like MS and will bend over for them. I done the whole Xbox fanboy thing back in the 360 era and then that dreadful X1 reveal and E3 happened and my stupid illusion of them was shattered. We have all seen what MS does when they're top or near it and it wasn't pretty, right now sure MS are pretty decent because they have to be but remember Phil fully supported that grand vision of the X1 and was part of it and even now i see hints of that plan creeping in. MS want to own gaming they always have done, MS want to own as much as they can because that's who MS a very big powerful big bully of a Corp. Sooner or later we will feel the sting from MS again and it won't be good.
@Tharsman Yeah i'm annoyed that gaming got worse today and that Xbox fanboys are all for it because Gamepass. If Sony buy SE (i hope not) i'm sure you lot will be all for it though of course.
@SplooshDmg Kotick brings in huge money, he's slime sure but he knows how to bring in money and i wouldn't at all be shocked if he keeps his job because of that.
@WallyWest well, at least I would disappoint you. I personally would like to see Sony acquire Square, or at least Final Fantasy.
Edit:
Also, lets go with your opinion, gaming didn't "get worse" because of the users, this is happening simply because market stars aligning.
ABK wanted to sell, XBox wanted to acquire and had the money to do so, and at the end of the day, regulatory agencies were convinced with the remedies after long talks and negotiations.
Any given gamer's opinion had zero influence on any of that.
@SplooshDmg @Kaloudz @J_Mo_Money Yep, the anti-Xbox crowd and fake-neutrals are really aggressive today. Who knows what they expect to find on an Xbox site.
Sony acquiring Square would make no difference anyway, Xbox don't see any of Square's titles as it is
@Snake_V5 so why the hell so much ppl play Genshin)
@Banjo- I'm not anti Xbox i just really don't like MS. The Xbox is great its why i own one but it doesn't mean i'm going to bend over for MS. You see shocker you can love the consoles but dislike the makers, its like with films as i love Marvel but despise Disney and love DC but don't like WB. Hell i don't even like Sony that much since Jimmy boy took over. Again though i just think long term with things and i know MS will show its true colours sooner or later.
@Kaloudz They are completely desperate to be the first to come here. I've seen people I've never seen before insulting me on the other threads. On the bright side, the Xbox haters and the fake-neutrals are all subscribed to Game Pass, apparently. So thank you for supporting the best gaming service 😂.
@WallyWest You can dislike Microsoft as much as you want and I will respect that unlike the furious people around here today.
I completely dislike the current Sony in spite of owning a PS4 since launch. I'll give you some reasons but there are many more:
· Anti-consumer practices, users' milking and anti-competitive conduct.
· Sony's attempts at removing third-party games from Xbox and Game Pass.
· They paid for Ghostwire Tokyo and Deathloop, with Starfield next in the queue, to skip Xbox for one year.
· They paid for early access and content in Call of Duty.
· They forced Fortnite players to lose all their purchases if they had played elsewhere (until the backlash).
· They prevented their players (me) to enjoy cross-play (until the backlash).
· Final Fantasy VII Remake/Intergrade/Rebirth/Forspoken Xbox exclusion deal.
· Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection Xbox exclusion deal.
· PS5 upgrade fees that you have to thank Microsoft's Smart Delivery for removing (partially).
· Remasters remastered being sold as new games.
· Their boring interactive films/automatic video games.
@WallyWest You're free to speculate, but I sincerely doubt it. I don't expect much of the C-level to remain once the merger is complete. Basically, the day Bethesda closed the executives packed up and went home. I expect that will be the case again. We aren't in this situation now because the C-level at ABK have done a bang-up job.
Hmm take this with a grain of salt.
It would make sense for Candy Crush to be on consoles, sure, but it could also be something like that Death Stranding listing on Xbox that was for the PC release.
I don't have it around but I remember there being a discussion about it before we found out that it was PC only.
@Kaloudz @OrfeasDourvas
I've been looking into it all evening and I think it might be an error too now. A slip-up from the Microsoft Rewards team, linking to a product page for a non-Xbox game. That's my guess.
@Banjo- I agree Sony are far from perfect and i really dislike how they do upgrades, i know they backed down with Horizon 2 but it should have been the same with every cross gen release from them. I'm also concerned over them remaking newer games like TLoU and maybe Horizon, maybe if they were cheaper and done more i could excuse it but they aren't. As for 3rd party deals look i'm indifferent to them but the reason i call out MS for them is because they and the playerbase act like they don't do them when they very much do. Why is Deathloop being a 1 year timed release bad but the same deal for Stalker on Xbox fine? You get my point right? A lot of what Sony do MS also does i just wish people would admit that.
@Kaloudz I don't think about MS when i play Halo or think about Disney when i watch an MCU film but when you go on the internet you tend to think about it more when you see articles and comments. I just it very bizarre to be honest how people defend and back Corps so happily when the Corps don't care about you, don't know you and don't even like you, its no different really to those who back and defend a creature like Elon Musk or any other big name Billionaire.
@WallyWest I'm not sure about Stalker 2 (not released yet) but the examples that are usually given against Microsoft are small games that come to PS a few months later, which is why I wouldn't complain about titles like Stray even though it hasn't been released for Xbox yet but I complain about juggernauts like Final Fantasy or Starfield.
Don't you realise that it's Sony that triggered the biggest acquisitions? Zenimax right after the Ghostwire, Deathloop and Starfield deals and ABK after Sony paid for early access and exclusive Call of Duty content. Yes, it all started with Game Pass but the truth is that the first acquisitions were small fry compared to this and that both giants, Zenimax and ABK, were paid by Sony to exclude Xbox not long before the acquisitions were announced.
I wouldn't like Sony to buy Square Enix but it would be fairer than paying for excluding Xbox from third-party games indefinitely. That's totally anti-competitive. Imagine Microsoft paying Ubisoft to avoid any PS release. That's what Sony is doing with other publishers.
One thing I will never understand is that Sony wants Microsoft's games while offering nothing but if they want ABK games, perhaps they will have to offer something in return, besides Call of Duty concessions. Sony and their fans pretend that they deserve everything while not sharing anything and taking what's not even theirs.
@Banjo- What Starfield deal? Ok Sony done a timed deal on Ghostwire and Deathloop but MS done the same type of deals many times last gen as well they are just as guilty with them, hell even in the 360 era we had timed deals on big games for Xbox as well as DLC like the GTA IV expansions. Sony were and are only doing what MS have been doing since the start however Sony never merged with a company the size of Bethesda and then cancelled all upcoming PS5 releases like Redfall and Starfield and made all future releases exclusive. MS changed the game here not Sony, in fact Sony tends to copy MS a lot of the time from paid online to CoD deals (did you forget MS had timed CoD deals during the 360 days), to 3rd party deals and to the recent buying of Devs and companies like Bungie.
As i said when Sony do it its bad but when MS do it its fine.

The deal that Sony wanted to do just before the acquisition.

Everybody keeps telling me that Microsoft did this during the Xbox 360 generation as if I supported that. When have I defended anything about Microsoft's deals of that generation? I didn't even have an Xbox then. The first time I bought Rise of the Tomb Raider (the typical Xbox 360 example that is used against me) was for PS4. And when I explain it they ignore it.
@Banjo- Wasn't ZeniMax looking for a buyer because they were 'struggling'? And according to Phil Spencer the ABK was driven by mobile. If those are both true then Sony didn't actually pull the trigger on either of those. They may have been a contributing factor but I don't really think they would have been the main cause to fork out almost a combined $90bn on.
@Kevw2006 Yes, Zenimax was looking for a buyer and yes, Sony was planning to pay for Starfield not touching Xbox for one year. Both were good reasons for Microsoft to fork out that money.
@uptownsoul It doesn't. Just commenting on people calling mobile games "trash" simply because they don't like it when that so-called trash generates a ton of money for a company.
I'm in a mood today. 😁
@Banjo- Reason 3 - adding past and future ZeniMax games to game pass. I'd argue that and ZeniMax becoming available combined were a far bigger reason than anything Sony had done. I suspect that they would have still bought them even if Deathloop, ghostwire etc all released on Xbox at the same time as PS.
@Kevw2006 Those are conjectures. Who knows what might have happened if...
@Banjo- The reasons I gave were the ones officially stated by Microsoft/ZeniMax and I'm not aware of them publicly stating that Sony had anything to do with it. So if we take them at their word then the deal would always have been done. Unless you are suggesting they are being economical with the truth...
@Kevw2006 I don't know what you want. It's impossible for you to know that Microsoft would have acquired Zenimax at that time even if Sony was not buying one-year Xbox exclusion deals of Zenimax games. Nobody knows what would have happened. If you want me to say that you are right, you are right. Good night.
