Ubisoft's The Settlers: New Allies was originally supposed to be releasing for Xbox this week on Thursday, March 23rd, but the company has now delayed the console release, with no new date provided as of yet.
As revealed on social media, the reason behind the delay is to "ensure the best possible experience for players", suggesting the game needs a little more polish before it's ready for its console launch.
Unfortunately, The Settlers: New Allies didn't debut to overly great reviews when it arrived on PC in February, racking up a fairly disappointing Metacritic score of 59, despite nearly all the reviews having some positive things to say.
Hopefully the extra time will allow the Xbox version to achieve a higher score when it eventually arrives, which we're assuming won't be too far away - we'll let you know when Ubisoft announces a new date.

Disappointing it's delayed, although happy for it to get some polish and I've got enough of a backlog.
Also given the technical issues Settlers games always have (and this one apparently has a bit of, according to the PC reviews) I was going to wait for a sale - I adored Settlers 3 but even with me constantly upgrading my PC to be cutting edge back then it could chug once war started...
Otherwise I'm looking forward to it - a lot of PC reviewers wanted it to be more complex or have strategic warfare etc. - nope, I want it to be a prettier Settlers 3, a relaxing easy-to-get-into game where games don't take too long!
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it’s because Anno 1800 - also a Ubisoft title - only released last week, so maybe they want to give that a bit more breathing room. Seemed a bit silly the same publisher releasing 2 strategy games just a week apart.
if they put a game unplayable like uno on xbox they should be ashame of themselve, gladly the delay is for releasing the game in a stable state.
Ubusoft is a hot mess right now. I mean, even more than normal.
Pity, was looking at this to fill the gap until the D4 release. Probably won't be buying it now.
