Arkane's upcoming Xbox console exclusive Redfall arrives in early May, and in recent weeks the team has been diving deeper into what this open world FPS will bring to Xbox players. This time around, we're being treated to a good look at what Arkane fans will no doubt be most excited for - the game's backstory.
The above story trailer introduces us all to the town of Redfall, a fictional Massachusetts locale now taken over by bloodthirsty vampires. There are some gameplay clips mixed in here too and we must say, we're really starting to dig Redfall's vibe.

Arkane's latest effort is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC, including Xbox Game Pass, on May 2nd. Post-launch DLC is coming too, as briefly outlined in the game's Bite Back upgrade which is available now on the Microsoft Store.
Are you hyped for Redfall on Game Pass? Let us know what you think of the new trailer!

Graphics don’t look great but could be a fun game Just hope solo play isn’t lacking.
I love the character designs in Arkane's games. Especially when they appear as portrait paintings in the environment. One of those little quirks that gives Arkane's games a unique signature.
So this is by Arkane Austin, the Prey team, meaning we might not be seeing a sequel to Prey (2017)?
I can't wait for this game
Looking forward to this one, hope it’s fun. As long as the weapon play is great, it should hold my attention. I am sure they can expand the game in time to cover more of the island or a new location. This kicks off MS’s game onslaught they have in the pipeline. Then Forza and Starfield and who knows what in the June Showcase, things are about to heat up fast for Team Green after a dreadful 2022.
@Green-Bandit and yet my backlog is making me thirsty!
Won’t be long to see what the games like.
Hoping it is an Arkane hit but we shall see, I’m a little reserved on this one for some reason.
As a longtime Arkane fan I really wish they capture mainstream audience with their games. They seem to be niche in their offerings but have produced solid games one after another. I'm a bit torn on this one but let's see how it folds out as the atmosphere seems amazing.
The more I see of this the more I like. Arkane haven't let me down yet.
My only worry still is if it doesn't play as well single player. I'm all aboard the hype train for everything else.
Not long now, just a month and a half to go.
Looks interesting to me and will likely play through Solo - like I play Borderlands first before considering any 'co-op' options.
Graphically, it looks like an 'Arkane' game - stylised rather than trying for ultra realism but then they are likely to be using more resources on Physics and systems.
Anyway, not long now to wait...
I can't wait to play this game, again! It was so much fun and there was so much more I wanted to discover before my time with it ended.
@Dezzy70 I am with you on this. I love Arkane games (in fact, I just finished Deathloop which was really fun). I like vampire stories. But every preview I see for this makes me want to play it less. I can't put my finger on why.
I hope to be wrong-I have yet to dislike (or fail to finish) a game from Arkane.
@themightyant glad to see you drank the koolaid. The graphics don’t really matter as long as the single player is fun… agreed!
@AlwaysPlaying It was never the graphics putting me off. I'll take Arkane's slightly painterly caricatures over attempted photo-realism any day. For starters it ages far better.
Just was worried it was an online multiplayer, Avengers 2.0/Borderlands style thing which doesn't interest me.
@Westernwolf4
Have played most of if not all the Arkane games and good times.
I think time moves on, so expectations move up as well, and it all sort of seems familiar basic sort of thing. The vampire part seems great, like vampires.
We shall see not long to wait until May.
At least if Redfall doesn’t do it for me in May I have BOTW2 as well. Then again that is covered in a mystery of doubt a little bit as well.
@AlwaysPlaying always nice to have a backlog, i am a little thin at the moment, but that’s mainly cause i have lately gotten really choosy as to what I’ll play or grabs my attention. So some my fault, some just not enough games hitting their release schedules and seeing delay’s, but delay’s mean a better game, so i am fine with that.
Arkane have always missed the mark for me.
Prey was boring as hell.
So was Deathloop.
But both of them you can see look amazing and have really good gameplay mechanics.
I just hope this game changes my mind because it does in fact look like it could be brilliant.
@FatalBubbles still Open World game
@kihaennem Yup. Graphics looks awesome for an open world game. Can't wait to play it!
@DukeeDukems yeah i like this vibe
@kihaennem Did you mean to reply to me? If so I’m confused.
Looks pretty damn dope if you ask me
