It's fair to say that for a lot of us, if we weren't playing the Resident Evil 4 Remake over the weekend, we were probably playing the Diablo 4 beta instead! As expected, the short test period ended up proving extremely popular.
In fact, Diablo 4 is even being talked about in some circles as another potential Game of the Year contender. What an amazing start to 2023 we've had with all these GOTY candidates - it's only March!
Windows Central
"If Blizzard can build an entire game with this level of evocative storytelling, and compelling combat, wrapped in an ongoing service that me and my friends can play for hundreds of hours — it's not hard to imagine Diablo IV taking home many game of the year awards later this year."
IGN
"Even though this beta weekend only included a level-capped Act 1 and three of the classes, so far it has exceeded my expectations in almost every way. There’s still a huge amount to see before we get anywhere close to a final review, but I’m already impressed by stellar dark storytelling, the best combat in a Diablo game to date, and a live-service foundation that aims to chart out a strong future for the beloved ARPG."
Now that the beta is over, we're keen to hear your verdict on what you've played so far. What kind of score would you give Diablo 4 right now, how likely are you to buy the game, and what do you think of it compared to other Diablo titles?
Give us your thoughts down in the polls and comments below, and don't forget that Diablo 4 launches for Xbox (sadly not Game Pass) on June 6th, 2023, with pre-orders already available on the Xbox Store.
