Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is certainly one of the biggest Xbox Game Pass additions announced for March so far, and its release is so close now! Team Ninja's upcoming slasher hits the library on March 3rd, with a free gameplay demo out now ahead of launch.
Of course, your token launch trailer is also now out in the wild, as Koei Tecmo ramps up its marketing efforts ahead of release. Lucky for us we don't need to decide whether it's worth a full purchase - day one on Xbox Game Pass baby!
Here's a bit more on what to expect from Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty early next month. Oh, and be sure to check out our related articles down below, detailing the final free demo and all of the full game's preload details on Xbox Game Pass.

"Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a dramatic, action-packed story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms.
Players fight off deadly creatures and enemy soldiers using swordplay based on the Chinese martial arts, attempting to overcome the odds by awakening the true power from within."
Are you playing this one right at launch? Let us know down in the comments!

I cannot wait for this. It looks absolutely fantastic.
Loved the demo , played fantastic, that was the first some time ago, second demo i was told is basically the same, finished first completely, gonna go in with fresh eyes shortly, they polished the game immensely what i saw in trailer but if gameplay hasn't changed, this is Elden Ring meets Nioh meets Dark Souls light, amazing fun i had with the demo
@Kaloudz also can summon npc help , which was a welcome option with some of the bosses in the demo
It's all preloaded and ready to go for launch day.
@jrt87 What? A Japanese developed game running best on PS5 than Xbox?! Say it ain't so.
I know Xbox isn't a popular platform in Japan, but it's getting very frustrating that Xbox games always seem to perform worse on Xbox over PS5.
Here is what is weird, though. Generally the games with framerate issues on Xbox do run at a higher resolution than PlayStation.
We saw this between PS4 Pro and Xbox One X and we are seeing it with PS5 and Series X.
Sekiro is a great example: 1800p Native on X1X, checkerboard 1800p on PS4 Pro. Was able to hold 60fps much better on PS4 Pro. X1X was all over the place. Kingdom Hearts III was similar.
Elden Ring is another - XSX maintained a higher resolution than PS5, but is much less stable.
The list is pretty extensive actually - just watch a lot of Digital Foundry's coverage on Japanese developed titles and you will see the pattern.
Note to Japanese developers: American's care about steady framerates. Games would perform the same if not slightly better to the PS5 version if you simply applied the same resolution limits on both consoles.
I mean, MAYBE these issues have something to do with how the SDK/GDK on Xbox works compared to PlayStation, but developers do have control over resolution and it always seems to be the case that Japanese developers want to favor resolution over performance on Xbox but ensure optimal resolution on PS5 to achieve better performance.
Let’s hope this Gamepass game hits the big spot unlike atomic heart.
Anyone.playing the demo that released today?
@GamingFan4Lyf sadly its probably partly down to install base too. optimise the one for largest player amount. it makes sense. Plus they have to sell it to them for $50-70. having a potential upfront payment from Microsoft for games pass release, means devs may think 'meh 98% good enough'. Fix rest later
@jrt87 Can confirm really nasty stutters on series X. I'm using VRR on LG CX and it doesn't help at all. They aren't frequent but when they happen they are big...they can happen in just a small boss arena too, really janky considering it's timing based game 😮💨
This games going to rock. The sad reality is they are all still focused on PS5. The Xbox fanbase is growing, they would be wise to not piss off fans. As long as they can get it to the standards of the first demo i am fine. though I am still pissed they never brought nioh or nioh 2 to xbox!
@PsBoxSwitchOwner lol the future is with xbox, team ninja knows it too. Yes PS5 is the focus now, but gamepass will prove that a bad release will ruin there reputation if its not fixed quickly.
@gogolpoe dont really want to get into your fanboy nonsense. So keep believing what you like
@PsBoxSwitchOwner I mean, it's possible; but I would think getting that upfront payment would mean more scrutiny to make sure the game performs at it's best on that platform.
It's just a very interesting observation on my part. There could be totally valid reasons why games run the way they do on Xbox against PlayStation. It's just...annoying.
Granted, it's not as if we are talking drastic differences in performance, but it doesn't have good optics when Microsoft boasted about Xbox being the most powerful hardware.
I mean, if it's some kind of system-level bottleneck on the Microsoft side, then Microsoft needs to get it straightened out!
@Kaloudz same here Mimic Tear made it a lot more doable for me, so no judgement from me 😁
Started playing the second demo yesterday. Didn't like it. Combat overly fast and too much button mashing. Couldn't defeat the rat thing (hidden behind the fire) nor the boss dude before the giant boss.
Felt very detached, unlike the classic combat of Souls Borne games.
Decided to start again from the beginning and realised I wasn't levelling up at the flag points. Found a set of dual blades and starting thinking about my attacks. Got into it more and more. Took down the rat, then the mini boss and can nearly kill the giant. Feel more involved now. Mechanics are still a quite jittery, but I'm now looking from the GamePass release.
@Kaloudz Have you played the Nioh games? The demo felt significantly easier than those titles. Parry/guard is very forgiving. Just finished the demo and for me there was essentially nothing to master, breezed through it.
I hope full game bump up the difficulty a notch! But I think the more forgiving nature will certainly appeal to the masses, so it might be for the better.
So on Saturday I started really getting into this, but having spent hours failing to get past the 2nd phase of Zhang Jiang, I'm about to give up. Really wanted to continue liking it, but I've had enough now. I'll probably give it a go on GP on launch.
