Wanted: Dead didn't get off to the best of starts earlier this month, acquiring a Metacritic score of 59 for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, but the team behind the game seems committed to making improvements across all platforms.
In a message posted on social media over the weekend, it was explained that the studio is working on "crucial fixes" for specific issues right now, and there are also additions, reworks and technical changes in the pipeline.
Here's a look at the full message (they could have used a better colour scheme!):

We were really hoping Wanted: Dead would turn out to be the awesome hybrid slasher/shooter we were hoping for, but unfortunately we ended up giving it a "Poor" 4/10 in our review earlier this month, calling it a "disappointing" effort.
Nevertheless, we're always grateful to see a team that's committed to making improvements, and that's exactly what seems to be happening here. Let's hope for some exciting updates in the coming months...

I'm so happy to hear about that.
This game is really good, but some improvements are necessary.
I love this game! This game is outstanding!
One of the biggest hurdles for any Developer attempting to fix a game post release is that the reputational damage is often already absolute. The official Metacritic review awarded upon release is permeant, which is unfortunate, because every now and again, a game is turned around and significantly improves on the initial offering. As much as I would like to see professional Critics/Reviewers return to the game and reassess it once these improvements are made, I know this is highly unlikey to ever happen. However, it is for this reason that I tend to prefer gamer reviews; particularly ones that are done more recently. It is for this reason that it is often better to visit Steam to see the reviews there as they differentiate reviews from when a game is released to those done in recent months. It means that if a game has been turned around, that this is highly likely to be reflected in the recent reviews, and thus allows me to make an informed decision on games that launched with problems, but have since been worked on. I wish that Xbox had a similar way of sorting their reviews, though the best that can be done there is to simply look for more recent reviews, or those that have been updated.
Ultimately, the ideal situation would be for Developers/Publishers to not release a game until it is completely ready, but we all know that in this day and age it is easier for them to rush release the game, and fix it (hopefully!) at a later stage, regardless of the damage that can do to sales and reputations. Of course, on the flip-side, gamers get annoyed when a game is delayed (even though it is to the benefit of the game). So I guess the Developers take that into account too. Sometimes us gamers are our own worse enemies...
Been playing the game on PS5 and really like it a lot. The one thing that really annoys me, though, and this isn't exclusive to Wanted: Dead but has happened in other games too, is having to beat it on all difficulties to get the real ending. That's just an obnoxious tactic.
I really like this game and am glad to see there will be further support.
