A new game studio called Wildlight Entertainment has been formed. While the name may not immediately grab your attention, some of the people at the studio might! It's led by former Apex Legends game director, Chad Grenier - also known for his work on the Titanfall series and his past development history with Call of Duty's Modern Warfare series.
Grenier's new studio will be comprised of a team made up of ex-CoD, Titanfall and Apex Legends team members. Some of the individuals at this studio, like designer Mohammad Alvai, were also reportedly attached to EA's cancelled single-player game which recently made headlines.
As you can see in the article above, EA's unannounced project was meant to be a new game set within the universe of Apex Legends and the Titanfall series. A Bloomberg report earlier this month suggested the team would be reassigned to new roles within the company, but others have clearly jumped ship since then.
Wildlight appears to have recruited an impressive lineup of talent so far - as we mentioned earlier, a lot of team members have worked on some great series' such as CoD, Battlefield, Borderlands, Apex Legends and Titanfall.
According to the official website, Wildlight Entertainment is a "fully-funded entertainment studio" focused on creating "big, bold, original gaming universes of epic quality and scale". It's apparently already got a new IP in the works that it has been working on for some time, and the team is "beyond excited" for what's to come.
If we hear any related updates, we'll let you know. What would you like to see from a studio with so much FPS talent linked to it? Sound off in the comments.

Please be a great FPS. These guys have made some of the best shooters. No more Battle Royal and make a fast fun competitive shooter and i would be all over that. I loved Titanfall. Kinda wish MS would buy them if they are up for it. Let them focus on PC and Xbox. The shooters today just aren’t very good right now and this team has loads of talent for the genre. Exciting news and can’t wait to see what they are cooking up.
Please don’t be a
livedead service game.New studio means new competition which then allows actiblizzard to go through. Before people get dead serious only a joke.
This is great news. Hopefully they will make a FPS similar to older CoD games since CoD has been dead for a few years now.
When you leave Infinity Ward to start a new studio because COD got too stale to try and revolutionise shooters with Titanfall...then the exact same thing happens with Money Printer Legends so you make a new studio to try and revolutionise shooters again...
Damn shame too given Titanfall 2 was massively overlooked. That's one helluva potent mix of experience for a modern FPS dev though, here's hoping their new game is basically Titanfall 3.
