Hitman 3 players are in for a real treat this January, especially if that happens to be the only recent Hitman title they own! Developer IO Interactive has announced that the team is streamlining the digital distribution of its popular stealth-assassination series, including making Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 completely free for Hitman 3 owners!
That's right, from January 26th, all Hitman 3 owners will be granted access to the base Hitman 1 and 2 content at no extra cost, with the whole package then being re-branded as 'Hitman: World of Assassination'.
The only additional paid content from that point onwards will be the 'Hitman: World of Assassination Deluxe Pack' — coming in at $30 — containing DLC content from Hitman 2 and 3.
Now, for Xbox Game Pass players this might not be huge news at the moment - the full Hitman Trilogy is currently a part of the Game Pass library. However, the series was added in January 2022, meaning it could possibly be one to leave later this month! If that were to happen, you'd have to turn to the upcoming Hitman: World of Assassination bundle to play all three titles, launching January 26th. Let's hope that whatever the name, all of this Hitman content remains a part of Xbox Game Pass!
