Today's "SteamWorld Telegraph" event has confirmed that Thunderful Publishing currently has four SteamWorld games in development, and one of them will be coming to PC and consoles in 2023.
That game is SteamWorld Build, which was the focus of the show today. This will allow you to "build your own unique SteamWorld mining town" as you attempt to escape a dying planet, and it looks pretty cool so far!
"Be the architect of a SteamWorld mining town! Break ground and raise houses for your steambot citizens, keep them fed and provide some rootin'-tootin' entertainment.
There's an abandoned mine sitting under your town, and it’s rumored to be filled with ancient tech that holds the key to escaping the impending doom. Use the natural resources above ground and the abundant ores buried in the mine to expand your town. Stimulate new residential tiers to join the quest to dig deeper, unearth untold riches and ultimately help them to hightail it off the planet!"
If you're interested in trying SteamWorld Build ahead of its Xbox release, there's a free demo available on Steam for PC right now. You can also check out some official screenshots of the game down below.
As for the other three games, there's no word on what they might be, but apparently we're going to be getting multiple SteamWorld Telegraph shows in the future, so hopefully we'll find out more by the end of the year.
Excited for SteamWorld Build and the other future titles? Let us know in the comments.

I like Steamworld games, I like Dungeon Keeper I like city builders, and I enjoyed Dungeons III's combination of DK and RTS, so I should really love this.
Looks right up my street.
Fantastic! The Steamworld games are really fun and always super polished.
This was unexpected, though am looking forward to it. It’s just a shame that considering the game is being developed concurrently on PC/consoles that the demo is only available on PC (steam) 🙄
This doesn't look like it's for me. Hopefully one of the other ones is Heist 2
Love the look at the city builder side. Not sure about underground part.
It looks awesome
Hyped for this. Looks brilliant. I love the concept of the underground, adds something new to the genre.
All the Steamworld games have been great and, crucially, relatively short. Hopefully this will be the same and not outstay it's welcome. Which is a problem in this genre.
I did play heist and it was a solid game, looking forward to these
Waiting on Dig 3.
@EliJapan I guess when you build an IP around steampunk robots with a dependency on wild west style mining you've sort of written yourself into a corner when it comes to energy sources.
