Update (Tue 10th Jan, 2023): Today's long-awaited Xbox Game Pass update has revealed the first batch of titles that will leave the service in January 2023 (the initial set of removals for the year), and it includes six games such as Nobody Saves The World, We Happy Few and Windjammers 2.
Here's the full list of games leaving the Xbox Game Pass library on January 15th.
Xbox Game Pass: Leaving Soon (January 15th, 2023)
Date | Game | Platform |
January 15 | Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniv. Edition | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 15 | Nobody Saves The World | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 15 | Pupperazzi | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 15 | The Anacrusis | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 15 | We Happy Few | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 15 | Windjammers 2 | Console, PC, Cloud |
As always, Xbox Game Pass members can get a discount of (at least) 20% on these titles before they're removed.
In terms of new arrivals, Xbox has re-confirmed three additions for the back half of January, but the company is seemingly yet to reveal the month's full Game Pass lineup. It's becoming increasingly likely that Xbox's reported January showcase will deliver the full reveal - hopefully said show is officially announced soon!
Any of these you might try out before they leave? Let us know down below.

I better finish Nobody Saves The World
@Tsushima Same here, got a bit stuck on the map, but was really enjoying it.
I must play one final session of Windjammers 2
Great game Nobody Saves The World, missing one achievement still, Nobody Saves The World Twice, where you have to do it all over again... bit silly to do it all over again.
Hmm might check out pupperazi
Maybe we might get some announcements this week as it feels like ages since getting any games. Lose 25 games since december 15th but dont get any new as jan games are adter this point and only 5 with six announced since 15th december prior to that as well as dismal GWG
Won't miss The Anacrusis at all. Was looking forward to coop shooters, but this easily is one of the worst games on the service.
@TheSilverFalcon I hate achievements like that..."did you like the game? do it again!"
We have gone almost a month without any new announcement other than the games leaving the service…
There’s also the rumor that Redfall will not release until May and we know that Starfield will come out AFTER Redfall so I’m betting it’s getting delayed again to the Fall…
With all this, I hate to ask but wtf is going on at Xbox?
It almost feels as if the entire company is at full-stop with them doing absolutely nothing, no new games for GP, no official announcements of any kind, seemingly having to wait almost another half a year to get a first-party game if they don’t get delayed again…
If we don’t get the rumored showcase for this month it will not be a good start for the brand that’s already tarnished by not having any games in 13 months and counting…
Whelp, I guess I should play Danganronpa this week. I imagine the sequels will be leaving shortly after as well making them all a 1-year Game Pass deal.
With Persona 3 and 4 and Monster Hunter Rise in January before any other game has been announced, I’m already happy with this month’s GamePass.
Nobody saves the world was wonderful. Slightly held back from absolute greatness by being forced to play with some forms and abilities but other than that small failing it was yet another superlative game from Drinkbox.
Whew, nothing big lost
Trying Danganronpa on GamePass was useful but ended up buying it on a Switch instead for £2.69 on sale as is more of a handheld type game for me.
don’t sleep on danganronpa xbox gamers. it’s an amazing game
I really liked Nobody Saves the World. I did not save it twice for that final achievement but to be fair, the new game plus mode shuffles the dungeon restrictions so it is not the exact same experience the second time through. I got its dlc and still have not completed it. I should do that, but I won't feel bad if I don't, the game was great fun and good value
Well....*****! Gotta get started on nobody saves the world. Was going to play Danganronpa at some point but won't have time for the 15th.
@ralphdibny I tried it out, and it's cute, but didn't really hold my interest beyond one session.
@PhileasFragg fair play. I have downloaded it but I don't think it was the game I thought it was from the screenshots/icon. Will give it a go at some point anyway as it won't cost me anything but time (and the paparazzi song living rent free in my head every time I think about it 😅)
@IOI I agree. I bought a series S as my first Xbox a couple of years ago when I couldn’t get a PS5. GP was great the first year—playing all the Halo games for the first time was a lot of fun and trying out a bunch of stuff that I wouldn’t normally buy. But I’m disappointed in the lack of new software for it and spent most of my time over the holidays playing the Switch. With FFVII part 2, FF16, Horizon, etc all on the PS5, I’m starting to regret getting the Xbox and MS isn’t offering much to keep me excited about what’s coming.
Glad it's not Tunic, which is a 10/10 game btw
Nobody saves the world - Only just got into this ffs !
Cleared Danganronpa last summer, such a fantastic game. Working on 2 but then Persona 5 hit, hahha.
Looks like MS is purposely sabotaging its own service to look lame in their latest acquisition bid.
Not cool, MS!!! 👎
I just cancelled my subscription until something relevant enough gets announced. The service is losing its appeal.
Anyone play Pupperazi? Meant to be OK and @ralphdibny It's only meant to be a couple of hours.
@TheSilverFalcon Same, but quite happy to let that one achievement go in Nobody Saves the World. Especially as you are forced to play all the side dungeons in NG+. It's not a super-quick speedrun.
@Reptilio Tunic came out and joined Game Pass in March 2022 so if it's only a year long deal it will go in Mar/Apr 2023. But many deals are much longer.
@themightyant I played a couple levels of it but I wasn't really in the right head space for it so I decided to let it go and deleted it.
It was ok. It's a first person photo-em-up. You can pet the doggies and you have ridiculously long arms when you do, especially the little pups. It's quite cute.
Haven't got much to lose by giving it a try at least!
Except missing Game Club again this month!!!
Better concentrate on Deathloop
We happy few!!?! Wtf
@Cherip-the-Ripper I was thinking the same thing! Is this the first game developed by a now first-party studio to leave Game Pass? I think so. It wasn't totally self-published, sure, but all of Obsidian's pre-acquisition games are still on there. Definitely weird.
@MaxC Forza Motorsport 7 was the first though all Forza games prior to Forza Horizon 4 were removed from the Microsoft Store 4 years after their launch so its removal from Game Pass in 2021 was to be expected.
