It's another Xbox Game Pass day! We've got two additions to the December 2022 Xbox Game Pass lineup, with one of them being a brand-new JRPG called Chained Echoes, and another being the Xbox One version of Metal: Hellsinger.
We actually reviewed Metal: Hellsinger earlier this year, calling it a "slick and addictive rhythm FPS", while Chained Echoes has been getting incredible reviews over the past 24 hours.
Here's the rundown of both new Xbox Game Pass titles for December 8th:
Chained Echoes - Console, PC, Cloud
Take up your sword, channel your magic or board your Mech. Chained Echoes is a 16-bit SNES style RPG set in a fantasy world where dragons are as common as piloted mechanical suits.
Metal: Hellsinger - Xbox One
Note: This game is already available for Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Metal: Hellsinger is a rhythm FPS, where your ability to shoot on the beat will enhance your gameplay experience. The more in sync you are with the rhythm, the more intense the music will become and the more destruction you will cause.

Chained Echoes doesn't have many reviews out there but the ones that are are very positive. I'm going to resub for that I think.
I tried Chained Echoes a little bit and I liked ir. It has an interesting battle system.
On switch up the review for the switch version of Chained echoes is stellar 94/100 a true masterpiece. Game pass is really good I would have bought this game for sure on switch but I don’t need to with this fantastic service.
Yeah, played a little of Chained Echoes last night and it’s great. 91 average on OpenCritic including a few perfect scores that called it a masterpiece. Another win for GamePass!
Oh wow Chained Echoes, it's getting some great early reviews so far (10/10, 9.5/10, 9/10 & 89/100). Wish I had more time to play a JRPG!
Gonna try Chained Echoes. I need a game I can just sit back and enjoy at a slow pace right now. Been struggling to play anything last few days.
I have no clue why I thought Hellsinger was already on game pass. I’ll likely give both a shoot at some point but still going through Persona 5, almost 200 hours in. There is a lot on my to-play bucket too, and as much as I want to play Chained Echoes, I might avoid any lengthy RPGs for a bit.
@Tharsman sounds like it has been since September? Today is for Xbox One native whereas before it was for Xbox Series X|S, PC & Cloud.
@ParsnipHero odd, the game was only available in GP for next-gen? I seen Sony do that king of thing a lot but think that’s the first timeI see it being done on Xbox. Unless the Xbox one version of this game is just now releasing at all?
@Tharsman yea, I don't know the reason.
Sometimes Game Pass announcements are confusing I remember thinking Vampire Survivors was out for Xbox because it was on Game Pass but it was just for PC.
@Tharsman actually just did some research. It looks like last gen versions were released today. It's also out for PS4.
I guess last gen versions needed a bit more time.
@ParsnipHero @Tharsman Yes, Xbox One version out today, Series X/S version been available for a while.
