One of our absolute favourite Xbox and Xbox Game Pass releases in 2022 was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, and just in time for the holiday period, we've been treated to a brand-new free update!
This patch brings three new features, along with a bunch of fixes and improvements. Those new features are a Custom Arcade Mode, in which you can customise the gameplay experience in various ways (see the image above), CRT and VCR filters, and the ability to set a maximum number of players for the lobby when playing online.
We'll be publishing our Pure Xbox Game of the Year 2022 roundup this weekend, and we can tell you it was very close as to whether TMNT: Shredder's Revenge made it into the list... you'll have to wait and see!
In any case, this was definitely one of the highlights of the year, scoring an "Excellent" 9/10 here at Pure Xbox in our review back in June, where we called it a "fantastic slice of arcade beat 'em up nostalgia that old hands, diehard fans and newcomers alike can enjoy in equal measure."

Sweet! I hope they continue to add more content to this game. It was one of my favorite 3rd party games added as a surprise to the service
Hope a character pack comes next.
It seems a retro mod pack would be the previous level, but that's maybe a bit pedantic
