One of the big surprise reveals at last week's The Game Awards show was the announcement of Crime Boss: Rockay City, an upcoming co-op FPS title from InGame Studios and 505 Games. On the back of its grand reveal, the team has released some extended gameplay showing off one of the game's co-op heist sequences.
This is looking very Payday-esque we must admit, especially judging by the game's general backdrop and its chaotic co-operative nature. Crime Boss: Rockay City is upping the ante quite a bit though with its selection of A-list acting talent, including the likes of Michael Rooker, Vanilla Ice and Chuck Norris, amongst others.
"Set in Rockay City, a thriving, flamboyant metropolis full of towering skyscrapers and sandy beaches, you take on the role of Travis Baker - a man with his sights set on becoming the new King of Rockay City, one crime at a time."
InGame's over-the-top crime shooter is aiming for a March 28th, 2023 release on PC, followed by a later 2023 release across various consoles including Xbox Series X and S, and we reckon this one could be good fun with friends!

My interest immediately diminished when I found out the focus was co-op. Hoping for couch co-op or a really good single player mode!
Looks pretty enough, but I'm not sure its my type of game. If there were couch co-op I'd be interested, but that looks very unlikely from this showing.
Chuck Norris in your film lets you know its no award winner, and I feel this title may be in similar territory? I hope they do well, but its unlikely to be for me.
It doesn’t look like it does anything new or groundbreaking and the sappy gamer in me can’t help feeling sorry for all the guards being murdered for doing their jobs
So there is no cover system, the robbers have invisible magic forcefields eating bullets and grenade shrapnel, and a heist walk through that sounds like the voice over in a tv commercial.
I was in but now out after seeing this game play. Also I wanted a single player focused game.
@grumpypotato "Also casting Chuck is like casting Kevin Sorbo or Steven Seagal, they all have something in common"
other than that none of them have been cast since 1998?
You really have to wonder what the thinking was in this game that lead to making a generic coop mission heist game, then deciding to hire a bunch of celebrities with all that leftover money for an online mission shooter. But then hiring only 80's and 90's celebrities. Who under the age of at least 35 has ever heard of Kim Basinger or Danny Glover? Is this something for grandparents to play while the kids are playing Fortnite and Minecraft or arguing if PS5 can play CoD next year?
The cast makes it almost appealing to me, but I'm certain I'm not supposed to be the demographic they're looking for...
Reminds me of Payday 2
@grumpypotato Oh, I'm probably the anomaly in the world that these Hookshot sites are as "social media" as it gets, so I have no knowledge of any gossip of actors unless it's someone that it spills over and they become more famous for their politics than their acting (Streisand, Eastwood, Oprah, etc.) So I honestly had no idea there was anything with any of this list. I figured Norris was the main draw since he's an internet meme legend, so the kids have heard of him. Though that's the internet before Rick Astley became a meme, so maybe the kids don't even know the internet memes.
But I otherwise agree, I see it flopping, there's nothing really appealing beyond the actors, and I can't figure out who they're trying to appeal to with this list of actors. The gameplay screams "things the kids are into" and the actors scream "this is targeted toward their parents/grandparents."
