Back in the summer, Ubisoft revealed that a 60FPS update was inbound for The Crew 2 on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, after the game was previously locked to 30FPS on last-gen consoles. However, when the initial update launched on July 6th, it only applied to Xbox Series X and PS5, with the Series S version needing a little more tweaking. Well, that version is almost ready to go.
The team has announced that as part of the game's Season 7 launch, performance improvements are coming to Xbox Series S. Developer Ivory Tower is aiming for a "target 60FPS, up to 1080p", improving on the current max of 30FPS.
The Crew 2 Season 7 launches on November 16th, so you've only got a few days to go until some 60FPS racing on Xbox Series S! Season 7 also contains new weather conditions (hence its 'Into the Storm' title), handling improvements, changes to the map UI, and more.
Will you be giving this open world racer another spin at 60FPS? Come let us know!

@BBB It probably is a case of not putting enough time and energy into "optimizing"... Especially with how straight forward gaming hardware and game development has became.
Throwing in curve balls like the Series S is not fun. Developers was probably hoping to just develop for the twins (Series X and PS5) this generation...
@AverageGamer I have a feeling game optimization is only going to get worse and worse for the Series S. We're already seeing games come out locked at 30 FPS on a Series X even.
The Series S? Oh yea that underperforming, niche console that has more problems than solutions. Yea. That one.
Yes, I know there are die hard Series S fans out there and bless your hearts. But if would really look at what you are getting for the price, Series X is superior and heck even Nintendo Switch better choice.
Just my opinion. Some will agree, some will argue.
@Brazenology Most likely, but it is what it is... This is why I moved away from fixed hardware.
